I developed a new website and I am switching servers.. (because current server doesn't support some of the new functionality). The on-page optimization is basically the same.. with more content+higher keyword density, so I am not worried about that. The new site is a wordpress site+it will have different DNS.. Could rankings drop due to this? Thanks a lot in advance!

Changing the DNS shouldn't affect the ranking of the site as long as you keep all the same structure of the site and all the current URL's. I'm not sure what you mean by "on-page optimization is basically the same" but if you change the structure of the URL's by changing the permalinks you will need to install a 301 redirect plugin before you change them to make sure the search engine don't get 404 errors for indexed pages because this will lower your ranking. |
