(is this in the right section?) Background info: Selling an ebook on a pretty standard format sales letter HTML template. I start with headline, intro, story, guarantee, product & buy button, testimonials, and another buy button and some PS's. I also have small Contact, Privacy Policy & Blog links at the bottom of the page. My Blog has 4 real & relevant posts. The rep told me the reason I was getting disapproved is because I never really mention the product until further down the page. All the info above it is just benefits. What confuses me is that I am following the same template that is all over the place....I am not trying to re-invent the wheel at all. So my questions: Do you think this really is the problem? Would Wordpress versus HTML make a difference? Would display ads versus text ads make a difference (strictly in terms of approval, not strategies)? What can I do to quit wasting time & frustration to get this resolved? |

One thing I have found with AdWords is that they like to have a description of the product, the price and a buy button above the fold. Why? I have no idea, which is usually the case when dealing with Google. You are always going to find examples of people doing things that are the opposite of what you are told but that is just the way it is. Google can't possibly enforce their "rules" on every single person advertising on Google. |

> Do you think this really is the problem? No. Nothing I see in guidelines that says when product has to be mentioned. Speaking of guidelines, read them here. > Would Wordpress versus HTML make a difference? No. Does WP not create HTML pages? Doesn't matter, that's not what they look at. You do want however to have text, not just pictures or pictures of text. HTML text is what the bot can read. > Would display ads versus text ads make a difference None at all. > What can I do to quit wasting time & frustration to get this resolved? Follow the guidelines. |

I don't know what the "rep" is talking about. if it was that simple, you would listen, make the change, and voila! It is simple, however, sites selling ebooks are mostly trash. Like um....99.9999999999999999999999999999% If you choose to try and sell an ebook, you will probably never be approved. Ebooks sites are put through the wringer. You can sell the book, on a page via adwords without using adwords to sell the the ebook. Paul |

| Hey Paul...not quite sure I am getting what your saying here...are you saying: if you are selling an ebook about dog food recipes, then use adwords to promote a site about dog food recipes which just happens to also sell an ebook?

Reps aren't allowed to poinpoint the real reason why your account is getting disapproved. My guess is the following, although I cannot say for sure because I don't know the type of product it is or what your sales letter says: Unacceptable business practices - You cannot guarantee a product unless it is absolutely true for every person who buys your product. For example, if your product is "how to grow sunflowers inside" you cannot say "I guarantee you will be able to grow sunflowers inside", you can only say "I guarantee that if you follow everything within my guide you will be able to grow sunflowers inside". One time I had a product that claimed to allow you to do something within x-amount of time. Advertised it on Google for 4 years, then the took it down telling me it was a site policy violation. Turns out, I needed to remove the time statements from my sales letter and remove all my guarantees besides the one where i guaranteed I would give your money back if you were unsatisfied. That's the one that gets most people. The other ones are products that claim to heal, rid, or cure any ailment or symptom and products that claim to help you to make more money. Google doesn't accept any of these two unless you meet very strict guidelines. Like if you're a doctor you can advertise a cure for a disease and if you can claim to help people make more money only through investing and/or saving their money. |

Some good info from these replies...I am thinking it might be my "guarantee's"...I will tone them all down and change the wording on some things. FYI, my product is not shady at all. Just a guide on how to increase your chances to get approved for a certain thing (not related to credit cards, banks or anything like that). Its a pretty bland topic which is why I am a little surprised I am having such a hard time. |

It's nothing to do if your product is shady. It's what you say in your sales letter. DVDpro has it right. You cannot in most cases guarantee anything. The difference is subtle to most people but his example is perfect in how you have to say things. This falls under their Misleading and Inaccurate Claims section found under Safety and Security. Many sites, including most CB products I've seen, violate this rule - probably why many think you cannot direct link to CB products which is not true - and most don't understand it. Nothing to do with the words in your URL. Just re-word your letter in a different way. Don't use the word guarantee. |

Build the landing page for giving away a FREE ebook/newsletter (call it what you want) to pass Google. Inside the FREE ebook, sell the real ebook. Agreed, don't guarantee anything! Done, |
