Hey,

This type of video - hand drawn and hand written while voice over - is exactly what I need for a tv spot I am doing.

Anyone know someone that does this, or some search terms that might help me find someone, or any sites that might put me in touch with someone?

I have been looking for around 2 hours now, and I cant find anything - probably because I just dont know what to search for.

Not sure if there is even anyone that advertises this sort of thing, maybe I just need to find an artist who can do it, and go from there.

But thought I would ask the warriors first!

I have a ton of material from researching Video Scribing on my hard drive. The bottom line is, these companies charge an average about $700. per hour. Yes, you heard me right...PER HOUR!

but sadly had to write him off (write him off...haha I crack myself up) because of his prices. Lower than the others, but still too rich for my blood.

Do a youtube search for "Video Scribe" and you'll see some great examples of this technique. Boy, I wish I know someone who could do this for a reasonable price.

winnerone thanks for the links. The more I look at the videos the more I want it! It has such a good feel to it, I couldnt stop watching the pimsleur video... and that is exactly the kind of retention keeping video I need for this spot.

OMG, my hand is tired from watching that video.

Hell yeah that's expensive to do! It is hypnotic like the typography videos. Really well done.

You may want to write your own brief storyboards and post on a freelance site.

Jill, that's actually not a bad idea...not bad at all. There must be SOMEBODY out there in odesk or elance or any of those dozens of similar sites that can do this. A quick help wanted post is all that needed.

Any decent flash designer could emulate this effect....but I'm sure you would end up with better results if the designer specializes in this effect.

Thomas, I appreciate the research that you've done. However, I think you're missing the point slightly. We are marketers. Not all of us want to bother with the actual technical work involved.

I for one simply want to find someone to whom I can outsource the work. I'll find a ton of work (warriors for hire is just ONE of many resources from which I'll get orders...also how about running a limited WSO for this?)

I'll do the marketing, and leave the expertise to the...experts. You'll instantly be in business like ydraw and those other guys. Ydraw hires the artists and then markets the work. Simple. We'll do that on a much smaller scale...initially

AppSumo is a daily deal site for things we would use. Lots of web 2.0 services list there and I've bought more stuff from AppSumo than anywhere else. The course is done on udemy.com, and is offered by "Miguel Hernandez of Grumo Media, who has produced videos for Hipmunk, inDinero, Ashton Kutcher + more". Has nothing to do with pimsleurapproach.

It's all legit.

Of course, to do these you would also need to invest in Final Cut Studio, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, and a Mac. But, if you're a good artist, there's demand for this stuff.

I agree with WinnerOne. I don't want to learn this. I want to outsource it. But, since someone else mentioned Grumo Media, and the deal was available today, it seemed prudent to mention it.

Awesome thanks man. I just bought it.

I dont think I can do it myself, my Dad could though, he is a good cartoonist.

But the main reason I bought it is for his insights into the script. I am a copywriter but I noticed that these videos have a little bit of light humor injected into them. His course covers that stuff. From writing the script to figuring out what you want to draw etc.

Even if I end up hiring someone, for $59 I can have a better script that will keep people captivated for a longer time.

I can do similar style vids using graphics rather than real world drawings sped up, but you are right in saying they aren't cheap. Depends whether you think a similar quality of video will have a big enough effect on achieving goals set.

Ah, no the appsumo course isnt about "video scribing".

It is about creating videos that use traditional cartooning, not the whiteboard effect where you record someone drawing and writing.

Too bad. But there is still some great stuff in relation to the storyboard and script.

And yeah his course teaches how to make videos kind of similar to the one on your homepage. That is actually the type of video I was planning on doing, until I saw this whiteboard video scribing effect.

When you say $700 per hour, is that $700 for every hour of produced video or for every hour worked?

Say i produce a final video that is an hour long. Assume it takes 3 hours to produce this? So is the charge here $700 or $2100?

I gues it's $700 per worked hour. If your video is an hour long, it may take more than 3 hours to produce it.

I agree that it would be a great WSO. However, because this is custom work which takes a long time to complete it may not be practical. Unless...

Here's a thought:

Pay for a generic video scribing - something along the lines of "The Top Ten Ways to High Ranking in Google" or "Here are the Answers to the Most Asked Questions About Real Estate." Make sure that it's easy to insert the name of the business.

Then hire a video scribler ONCE and sell it several times over for sure profits.

Ok I will give everyone the low down on video scribing since that is what I do. Video scribing and whiteboard animation are one in the same thing. They are not your typical videos. Results of video scribing are fantastic but the cost is high. Here is the breakdown and prices of these types of videos. The top 4 highest price companies in video scribing will charge around $15000+ per video. Some of them have high quality but there are only 4 companies that have the quality that you need. RSA animate (you can't hire these guys they are booked and price is around 30K+) Room 214, ydraw, and truscribe.
