Country Specific Ranking - Which Domain to develop?

hi guys/gals ... going to take-up a few minutes of time and would appreciate if you can share your comments and thoughts. let's presume the following:

Company Name:
ABC SERVICES LLP

Domains Owned:
abcservices.com (domain regged since 2002, no website)
abcservices.com.sg (domain regged since 1997, existing website, listed on page 7 of keyword, onsite SEO virtually non-existent)
abcservices.sg (domain regged since 2005, no website)

Additional Information:
Shop serving only Singapore based clients for dog food
Trying to rank for the term "dog food"
Trying to rank for dog food - Google Search

What would be your approach?

Yes, I know. Keyword not found on the domain name, that's a great shame. But its very common in these parts.

I'm kinda debating on the following:

01. develop the .COM, .COM.SG or .SG? which is easier to rank?

02. what do we do with the remaining domains? replicate the EXACT same content and same website on all 3 domains?

Any advise and comments?

If you want to develop your business in local area just like in Chicago then you should buy a domain for Chicago otherwise you buy .com or .net domain. I think for you .sg is best for develop your business

Thanks. But what will you do with the other domains? Presuming that we pick the .COM.SG to develop. What happens to the .COM? Should we be duplicating the exact content on the .COM? Or do a 301 redirect from the .COM to the .COM.SG?

Why not rank the remaining ones into the top ten on 1st page.

Are you saying that I should have 3 sets of content? One set of content for each site?

Or, do I duplicate all the content across all 3 sites?

If you want to rank quick use original content on all the 3 sites.
Yes you can rank with duplicate content too but it has it own adversities and take up more additional resources and time.

mmm ... would you care to elaborate as to what are the adverse effects and why it requires more resources and time? copying content from one site to another is relatively easy

Original content gets first priority.
Google will drop the duplicate content site in terms of rankings.
So you may need more resources like more backlinks,more backlinks means more work which in turn adds up to the cost for more tools or services and consumes more time.

If you are targeting locally then i would suggest you to go for .sg domain and if you think you will target other regions also after a great success in Singapore then go for .com

Thanks. Just continuing the conversation, wouldn't it easy to cause "damage" to a competitor's website if that's the case? Can someone with ill-intentions clone the site content and then replicate it across the internet. This will cause the main site to lose its ranking?

Thanks. I think that's probably the best way to go. Stick to developing the .COM.SG ... my main consideration now is what to do with the .COM and the .SG ... duplicate the content from the .COM.SG to .COM and .SG? or to do something else with the remaining sites?

Sorry for the late reply,wasn't on warrior forum for sometime.

I've seen people using the duplicate content and rank higher than the original one.Google is trying its best to solve this problem,but there are guys who one or the other way find the loopholes and take advantage of it.
There are ways to minimize the damage like using tools which put a link back to your site when some one scraped your content.

Well, to be fair, I expect Big G to penalize for cloned content, but the problem arises from how does Big G know which is the original and which is the clone? Furthermore, if Big G takes a tough stand on cloned content, one could work on that and do harm to a competitor. For example ...

Running Shoes, Marathon Training, Running Tips & Nutrition – Competitor.com ranks highly for a particular keyword. One can then clone the content and place it on myclone.info - myclone Resources and Information. This website is for sale! ... if Big G penalizes for clone content, I wonder if competitor.com will be affected.

Big G will do what it can,at the same time we have to find ways to minimize the damage.May be disable right click,copy,etc will help prevent cloning.
