Default Nofollow High PR blogs. Do you think can boost SERP position?

Nowadays its almost impossible to get do follow high PR blogs to comment on. My question is do you think nofollow high PR blogs can pass link juice and counted by google?

As I noticed google count no follow backlinks from no follow social networking as well as bookmarking sites. So what about blog comments.

You're going to get a LOT of mixed opinions here. But personally, I think it still "counts" as a link, but PR isn't passed. I won't turn a link down just because it's nofollow. At the very least it's going to help your link diversity.

Well here I want to share my experience. I have a site San Angelo LIVE! Lists Every Upcoming Event San Angelo, Tx and the keyword is San Angelo Texas.
Just 4 days ago I posted comments on 4 PR4 relevant niche blogs. All of these are No-Follow backlinks.

Now I am watching the google dance. The page comes to 4th position from 9th place and stay there almost 7,8,9 hours. After some time I see the page is sent back to its original position #8/#9, and within few minutes I see the page come back again and stay few hours. This is happening last 4 days....

I am not building backlinks now. Just monitoring the bounce. So dont you think nofollow links are working??

As JP says, diversity is important.
No-follow is working, so do not need to worry.

When encounter Google Dance, do not give up posting more links.
Google is searching for a position that suits your site.

Many say no-follow counts for jack all, but I personally believe it still counts as a 'vote', just doesn't pass any page rank. I'n going to do a case study in the near future to measure just how useful no-follow links can be.

Hard to know for sure what is causing the movement. (I see you in the middle of page 2, by the way.) It also looks like you've already got a pretty good amount of backlinks.

Some people completely shun nofollow backlinks. I don't, personally. I think they have some value. Just not sure how much.

I'm pretty sure there's a few case studies floating around from people that have tried to rank with *only* nofollow links. You should try to find some to get their opinion.

It's funny how everyone says that other people will say that no-follow links aren't worth the time, but everyone whose posted here feels the opposite. I actually have to agree with the idea that no-follow links are good to have. As stated previously, they will give you link diversity and I feel like they might be a small "vote" towards your site but any vote is a good vote.

Nofollow backlink is help in SERP. Many people dont understand what exactly nofollow mean. Nofollow is same as dofollow, the only different is nofollow doesnt pass the PR juice and it is not being indexed, it helps in SERP as dofollow as well

It is crucial to have a variety like it was already said. If you post on only do-follow links, it will appear fishy to Google. Make backlinking appear as natural as possible. I say make the majority of links on do-follow blogs/sites but definitely throw in a few no-follows too.

Sometimes, different programs give different results whether a link is DOFOLLOW or not. Which program to use instead of having to check the source code all the time? thanks

like the 60th time this has been discussed and theres never been any proof that nofollow works any different that advertised, no juice - no anchor text.

All I have to say because by now the subject is boring

No-follow backlinks are important for 2 main reasons:

1. It keeps natural look of your backlink profile. Normal website would gather both kinds of links "do" and no-follow. Conclusion: if you are building all your backlinks you should also have some no-follow links just to reinsure Google that you are not a spammer.

2. No-follow links do not pass any PageRank, however they seem to pass something else called authority and trust. You can use metrics from SEOmoz PageAuthority and mozTrust. In other words by getting no-follow link from highly authoritative webpage (or just domain) you are connecting yourself with "good neighborhood" of websites.

Like most commenting on here, I believe it's good to have link diversity and have some NoFollow links. I don't believe they will do much in respect of the PR of your page or the SERP position, but they'll kind of pad things out and so there is no reason not to include them - after all as you say they are much easier to get. I'd be quite happy to take a NoFollow link on say a PR2 page within a PR8 domain (homepage), but would much rather a DoFollow any day and prefer to spend my time finding and posting on these, it is worth the searching in my opinion.

I have seen that many SEO builder's are confused about the importance of no-follow links.I want to make clear to everyone that no-follow links are also equally important as do-follow links to get rank in SERP.So blog commenting on no-follow links are also very important part of SEO.
