Hi, I have a wordpress blog that I setup with over 50 posts but I did not set it up for in an SEO manner at all. I now want to make a new site on a new domain but I want to take down that site and put all the content on my new domain and set it all up for SEO purposes. If I take down the old site and put it up on my new domain with a new theme/design will I get punished for duplicate content still? THANKS Augie |

All this talk of "punishment"..! Seriously, you are not going to break any laws are you? ![]() No, no punishment - you should look into how to properly redirect the old site to the new, though. It's very easy to do using the .htaccess file so that all your old links are redirected to the equivalent new links with a 301 (permanent) redirect. You can Google how to do that. Now, whether there will be NO changes in your rankings if you are getting any significant traffic, well, no-one can tell you that for sure. In the long-term it should not matter. |
