If you have an older version of Wordpress installed, does this affect your SERP ranking? I never really thought about it before until now, but I just got an e-mail from GoDaddy to update my WP installations, so here is my logic... If you don't have the latest version of WP installed, your site is more vulnerable to being hacked/attacked/hijacked/etc. And if Google sees that you're WP is not up to date, they wouldn't want there users finding your site that has more of a likelihood to have malware/viruses on it, and therefore would kick your site down the SERPs a little bit. On the other hand, I think a majority of the web is vulnerable to malicious attacks no matter what blogging platform and version is used to build the site, even if it's a standard HTML site. So what are your thoughts? |

I know GWT will detect If your running an older version of WP, I've found the message in my GWT account, saying my sites WP version is outdated. I now remove the WP version from the source code. |

Ah, not a bad idea removing it from the source code. Do you think it has any affect on SERP rankings though?
