Default Google Responded To My AdSense Arbitrage Query...

I was asking Google if we can send traffic from adf.ly through our AdSense sites, whether that was against their guidelines or not. Here's what they said...
On Fri, Sep 9, 2011 at 8:05 PM, Google AdSense Policy Enforcement <adsense-support@google.com> wrote:
Hi John,

Thanks for your email. We recommend publishers to always have good quality organic traffic and avoid getting traffic from sources that is not interested in your content to minimize the risk of accidental or fraudulent clicks, resulting in ads disabling. To that effect, you may find additional information valuable:

Publishers may not place Google ads on pages that violate Google’s webmaster quality guidelines (Webmaster Guidelines - Webmaster Tools Help). While we've included the following excerpts from these guidelines, we recommend that you take the time to review them in their entirety.

* Make pages for users, not for search engines.
* Don't employ cloaking or sneaky redirects.
* Don't load pages with irrelevant words.
* Don't create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content.
* Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank.
* Avoid "doorway" pages created just for search engines, or other "cookie cutter" approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content.
* Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, "Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?"
* If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site first.

Sincerely,
Marc
The Google AdSense Team

...but all the guy said was that I should really closely examine their "guidelines," which are the same "guidelines" posted publicly on the Google AdSense help website.

I replied asking if he could make a specific judgement call on adf.ly one way or the other. We'll see.

Actually surprised I got this e-mail, to be honest with you! It took about a week I think. Google Busy.

MY adsense account permanently suspended because, i made a blogspot blog and drive traffic from adfly. If i spend $50 in adfly, i may earn about $150 from adsense.

Well very surprising that you actually got an answer, but as usual, the response didn't say anything other than TOS. Which could mean anything. The only person that can talk more double talk than Google is Alan Greenspan when he was talking to Congress to give them a report.

you can get it back, isn't there some kind of appeals process? i've seen companies where that's all they do, you pay them to make an appeal and present your case before google to get google to give you a second chance.

it's called...

That canned response has been going around for years and really, in effect, doesn't directly answer your question..does it?

It's amazing to even think that you've got a reply. I see many of my questions go unanswered.

Google replies frequntly, like when one of my review sites was deindexed, I contacted them and after about 3 days or so, they replied telling whatsup but what I noticed is that they can never give you a direct and exact answer like "you had an adult video, thats why the site was deindexed or something like that", they keep running around, leaving you in assumptions and at the end of the day, sending you back to their webmaster guidelines...

Maybe he means that the reply was a canned response that just tells
you to read the rules. Quite common. Google rarely (never?) will
give you a personal reply. Chances are, you just got an auto reply.
That's exactly what they do.

If you notice, the email has nothing to do with your personal situation.
Case in point, "Make pages for users, not for search engines."

Nothing to do with ad fly.

They scan your email, like your site, and put together a canned
response as close as the algo can.

I mentioned somewhere that it does not seem to violate anything, as
google allows paid ads, and, the user is not forced or tricked into
going to your site. You have a text ad. It's as simple as that.

The quality of traffic has nothing to do with one program specifically.

Traffic that sucks can come from a other sources as well. Just
because it's adfly, does not mean the traffic you get will suck.

@johnrapp: if you're still around, what was the final result? Did you send visits with adf.ly? Did you get banned by google adsense?

From my experience, you can do arbitrage but the clicks you are sending must also convert on the advertisers end.

Cause adsense is always trying to weed out low quality MFA sites that do not provide value to their advertisers.
