Hi Friends, I am kinda in a dilemma whether to have a left sidebar or a right one! In another forum, I was told that visitors prefer links on the Left Sidebar. Is it true? How healthy is keeping a Left Sidebar in terms of SEO?

I actually asked the same question a couple days ago: Left Sidebar vs Right Sidebar A lot of people gave their input on the right/left sidebar and I even put a poll. I personally think that the traditional right sidebar is much better than the left sidebar since my CTR was almost nothing for one of my sites when I put it to the left sidebar, but shot up when I put it back to the right. To tell you the truth though, I think it really depends on the niche & theme you have since there were conflicting results. My thoughts are that you should continue testing yourself and find out which sites preform better with the left sidebar. |

Just go with whatever feels good. I usually prefer right sidebar but sometimes use both. |

If the question is a traditional sidebar, the left seems to be standard. Navigation on the left. I don't feel like giving the long explanations. If the question is about ads, that's another story. If your ads are close, or covered up on the right, it might make no sense to put them there. When a window is shrunk, or people use a lower res, the right side gets chopped. Also, because scrolling is on the right, you run the risk (or joy) of an accidental click. Yukon's take in that thread is very interesting. Paul |

Let's say I want to view this from the CTR perspective! Then which one fairs well? cause in an Adsense Theme Left Sidebar claims better results while on a normal page it's the links on the right sidebar that matters! What do you Guys say?
