I think its an OK tool. Make sure though that you click the "exact" checkbox on the left to get more accurate results. The other tool I like is the keyword tool at: SEO Book.com ~ SEO Training Made Easy I think you have to sign up but its free. |

I think the Google Research tool is great, what are you having trouble with, the tool or understanding how it works? Using the keyword tool is half the battle, you have to refine and tune your keywords then depending what you are looking to accomplish with the site your building you will target a low competition high payout keyword if adsense is your thing. It really depends on if your looking for an authority site, clickbank site, site to resell etc..

Google's keyword tool is great. No keyword tool is perfect. And most are very inaccurate. But compared to a lot of stuff, it's fine. You might want to check out their Contextual Targeting Tool. It's pretty sweet, too! I think you have to be logged in to your AdWords account to get to it. Not sure about that, though.

I have to say of the free keyword tools, I've yet to find anything better. The problem is, even then, it's only an estimate of searches and can be way off.

Just consider it an estimation tool. Some results can be WAY off. But I think it's better than it ever has been. I've dropped Market Samurai for it. MS uses the tool as a base, so you get the same results. But MS has been getting slower, and slower, ...and slower. |

The Google Keyword Tool is one of my favorites! Only because of how easy it is to use, and it seems to give me the best results, when I have set everything up properly. I prefer to do my research through this tool, because of a few reasons. One...Its Free! One of the best reasons why its great to use. 2...Its as easy as typing in a root keyword and it will give you many different ideas for keywords to choose from. 3...Competition can be analyzed more effectively by checking out the top ten for that keyword, any pages indexed, how well optimized these pages are, if pages have included keyword in title, keyword in content etc. This keyword tool can do a good job for anyone, if they put some effort into it, and some good time, the results always pay off with proper keyword analysis, and you can also discover golden keywords in the process! Hope this helps you! |
