What is the approximate value of a PR3 ranked page with only a few outbound links on it, compared to a PR0 or PR1? Does anyone know? I've asked some people I know with PR3 sites to give me one-way anchor-text links and I'm trying to determine how much that will likely help my site. PR3, do-follow, anchor-texted links with usually some contextual wording, often in a related field site. |

Coolness. I got 3 today, to two different sites. (Total of 6), with more on the way. Wish I'd thought of this before!

Yeah That is approx correct. The other factors are, age, how many pages that site has indexed in google and backlinks that point to the Root of the domain. Also, your backlink needs to appear on the home page of the site to enjoy the PR3, if it is on a new page, it will most likely have PR NA or PR0 |

Oh, I know about it having to be ON the actual PR3 page. That's part of the deal. Getting it on an off-page is no challenge. I figure if someone got a PR3, they must be doing something right. lol. |

One can only assume the approximate value of PR3 sites. Only Google knows the exact value. We could only assume that PR3 is worth a number of PR2 websites. But then again that is just an assumption.

On the same topic (not exactly what you asked for): Here's a table that I found online: Google pageRank table, compare pagerank values, page rank calculation table value It shows how many incoming PR4 links you would need to have a PR4, and their answer is 18. But as it states, there are many other factors including OBL (outbound links) on the referring site, etc. For comparison: you would need 3,055 PR1 incoming links to achieve that same PR4 on your page. This shows the value of having incoming PR4 links vs. the value of having incoming PR1 links. The chart also shows ranges from PR3-PR8. Naturally, it's just an "estimate", but I found it somewhat helpful... |

I did an article on this recently with some calculations calibrated against some real world situations, you might find the tables in there useful as well. It's at coconut headphones d o t com, look on the right for how to estimate how many links you need (sorry, can't post links here, not enough postings yet). - Ted |

Just make sure you hold the PR3 through the next update, and then you'll be able to assess it to a quality level.
