So I know a lot of people suggest not using google analytics but what about the webmasters tool? Should I stop using that as well?

Well a lot of people think that using google analytics gives google too much information on all your websites and makes it easier for them to penalize or even deindex ALL of your websites in one go.

I would not fret much on getting penalized by Google if I haven't done any violations. If I would like to optimize for Google then who would give me more accurate statistics than Google itself.

Penalize and deindex which is not taken from google analytics or web master tools. if you follow white hat technique then why your site will ban or deindex.

Both analytics and webmasters are very important to use for the better performance of website. I can't understand why they said, not to use analytics.

and if you take that in another way Google will know all your details and you will he authorized candidate for Google.so don't you think the big G may benefit you.

I do black hat SEO for my websites all the time for years and I use Analytics and Webmasters and everything is fine. I never have any worry.

As usual, the SEO world is full of misinformation and myths.

If you believe Google is fetching your good and bad information from our analytics account for penalizing you, then you are probably wrong. If you are doing something wrong at your website then sooner or later Google will discover it using its algorithms.
Google doesn’t use Analytics report or webmaster tools for fetching site’s activities.

You know how temperamental google can be. By using google analytics, it means if you do the smallest thing wrong on ANY of your sites, they could easily deindex ALL of your sites.

It might not even be something you did wrong.
- your site could get hacked and link to porn, gambling, pharma sites.
- you could get a few dodgy backlinks and get banned
- if you have a large empire of websites, it may be hard to moderate or keep everything in line with the rules

They probably can find all your sites even if you don't have analytics but theres not point making it easy for them right? Besides awstats in cpanel gives me accurate enough data
