No they don't. 99% of my backlinks are from places nowhere even remotely related to my niche, because it's not a very common niche. I have top rankings for my main keywords.

There are two kinds of methods
1- Page Rank
2- Do/No-Do Follow Blogs

Which one is powerful for your website promotion/marketing.I would recommend you,used the both methods because Do follow blogs doesn't have good Page Rank that why i said used both methods.

There is Nothing that states that You should get backlinks from same niche..
You should get backlinks from High PR Pages..
The best is to get the Links from pages which have less number of outbound links..

It is not necessary that if they are related to your niche then only you will get improvement in rankings,back links from different niches also give improvement.

Agreed. I also saw improvement in rankings with backlinks from totally unrelated sites. The good thing about related links is they also generate traffic, for obvious reasons.

Relevancy is not a big issue when it comes to backlinks. you can still get a good ranking by getting links from unrelated sites. It has been proven by most SEOs.

But aiming to get links from related niches is not a bad thing. But think of it, setting up your mindset in getting links from related niches sometimes lead to a big misconception.

Why? In that case, link from crappy but related niches would still have a value for you (because you think it is relevant) that you would still get a link from it not knowing that it might hurt your site.

If you're aware of Google Guidelines, they have stated that getting links from bad neighborhood will eventually hurt your site. Meaning, bad neighborhood in general even if it is relevant to your site.

So Just work natural, get links from different sources and you'll be on the right track.

Link are counted as a vote in google eyes but that doesn't mean you can spam with thousands of links..related high pr backlinks are really helpful for serps rankings

To increase your ranking in google and get to the first places you need Quality Backlinks .
