A class C IP address differs from others in the fact that the number in the third octet changes.

In other words 111.222.333.444 it would be the 3s in this case that change.

The benefit is that you can have multiple sites on separate class c Ip addresses that link to one another and search engines will see this as a separate site and count these links as back links.

if you see any ip address its divided in to 4 parts – AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD. Third section is called C Class IP.
In the era of spam, many webmasters started creating multiple website on same server and linked each other to increase the sites backlink and ranking. Search Engines identified this issue and started avoiding links coming from similar IPs – given its easy to get different D class ips on same server, Search Engines also started avoiding Links from same C Class IP. So when Search Engine see that you’ve a link coming from same C Class IP on which your website is located, the backlink will not have any importance. Please note you’ll not get penalized if you’ve link coming from same C class IP, but you’ll not get any advantage either. So if you are doing the link exchange specially if you don’t have your own server, do check if the person you are linking to has a different C class ip than yours

C-class IP's are not at all important to worry about unless you are setting up your own network of sites for the purpose of generating backlinks.

I guess that was the reason for the question
Most IM's have multiple sites, and many want to string them together... its an important topic IMO.

Many new IM'ers have it in their head that they need a separate C-class IP for each of their sites. That is not at all true unless you are setting up a link network, which few IM'ers ever do or should even attempt.

Just asking...

Is there C-class IP for free?

Just in case. I know not everything is free.

Separate IPs are not available, these are attached with hosting account. So if you are looking for different IPs then try free hosting but chances of Bad neighborhood are high.

Thanks

Yeah not every site as you said but depends on the size really . I do think that every Imers should consider having some of their sites on different class C Ips provided they have more than two or three sites and plenty do. Don't need SEO hosting though. Just use a few different hosting companies.
