hi all,

I started my IM business in last December. Because my english is very bad, I brought articles from 3 different contractors in elance @~$10/article. I brought around 30 articles and build 5 mini sites, my question is i found those articles are contentless, all of information are found in ezine and i doubt all of them are spinned article (i dont have proof).

so my question is if my english is bad, how can i do better? via outsourcing or likelse, hire a filipino VA?

Just hire a better content writer. It is pretty cheap but still poor for a $10 supplier to give you duplicate or badly spun content.

Or take english lessons. To be fair you don't seem to be that bad. I have seen alot worse than the english in your thread being used and performing for SEO.

thanks nick, i tried to submit these articles to Ezine but get rejected, i rewrite myself and got rejected again and again ---- so I think i am not (and will not be) a good writer

What is the average/reasonable price for a quality article?.......if $10 is pretty cheap

Try to contact individuals separately. Make friends online and suggest your proposals to then, they will write for you unique articles. Some will even do that for the fund of doing it and not for money.

Well that all depends on the quality, length and intended use of the articles. For very good quality unique articles you should probably pay more than double that. I have also seen some PR companies in London that charge $2 per word I think they write them using the stick up their a*s

Sasai, where do you live? Do you have a university near you? You could hire a student for writing articles.

I live in germany and here it is possible to get many students they can help. My englisch is not very well and if i have to write big english articles i do so.

Check Textbrokers.com they have quality writers and the writers are rated according to the quality of articles they provide... I am sure you can find quality content there at 10$ an article easily!!

Some say that the quality of the content is not quit important, sometimes if visitor find your article doesnt worth reading, they click your advertisement directly, how do you guys think?

If the quality of your content is poor then the chances of a visitor finding your article and then clicking your ad is also poor.

For $10 a pop you can find a native writer, i.e. from USA or other English speaking country.

Elance, Freelancer etc are NOT where you should be going for content.

There are services like thecontentauthority.com that will give you passable stuff, but TBH I dont rate them either, they are preferable to Elance, and do give you some level of protection / consistency, but qualty per $ is not great.

The best thing to do is to try and find students looking to make a little extra money.

There are virtually no decent writers on freelancing sites.

A lot of work is sub contracted, Non native employers sub contracting articles out to other non native writers, neither of whom have a good command of English. Feedback in that case is utterly worthless.

If you want GOOD content you need a native writer, or a non native with exceptional language skills.

You will not find a non native with exceptional language skills, as they will be doing higher value translation work rather than bum articles.... which brings you back to native writers.

How can someone that cannot speak english produce good content in English?

Freelancing sites are only good for seeding spinners and producing filler for link sites / ezine etc.

They are USELESS for decent "money site" content.

I read that a few times already how people claimed how content written by someone for $2 or $3 is "awesome"....bought the articles and it turns out to be utter garbage where its literally impossible to use anywhere.

The people thinking it's "awesome" probably dont speak English either. I am not saying that someone can not be lucky and FIND a good writer for $3....but dont trust the reviews etc. especially on those "forums". (you know which ones)

Hire a filipino VA. Also if you want to improve your grammar, read lots of books. Observe how they use words and stuffs.

Hire someone who can do it in a better way. I faced similar issues and then I gave it to my sisters friend and she is doing good job for me.
