Help, Help, Help Please! My website dropped from number 1 spot to page 6!

One of my websites that sat at the number one spot for it's keyword for the better part of this year starting around January up until last week fell to page 6. Cannot figure out what happened but I'm confused and not sure what to do to bring it back. Have I done something wrong? Is there someplace I can go to test to figure it out just a little upset with the situation. Any advice? Who can I speak to? I know it's on page 6 two of my links back to back are there but there are newer sites one also of mine same keyword coming up in the 4th spot but the other has just fallen to page 6. Is this considered a Google Dance or something else? This happened once in December of 2010 but it was completely off of Google as I couldn't find it at all. I assume that was the google sandbox but this seems to me after doing loads of research online a Google Dance? What should I be doing? Stop having links coming back to my site, should I stop posting to the blog? What kinds of things would cause this situation? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It had been reported that Google Panda, designed to identify thin sites low on original content, is actually a processor intensive filter that they only let out of the barn every 4 or 5 weeks, somewhere there are periodic reports listing major sites that were hurt or helped by a panda update. Guess the combined possible causes could be labeled: the Panda Dance.

keep adding content, if this is just a dancing issue it will come back up.

Just keep adding consistent high pr backlinks and original high quality articles and you'll be back up in no time

Did you change the page titles or anything like that? I can see a slight change, but not from page 1-6 unless you really made some keyword changes or your site was flagged for some reason.

I just finished reading an article about the Google Panda.

I guess the bottom line is if a website contains content that was copied
and pasted from another website the Google panda’s algorithm will pick it
up. So one’s website will be penalized, if you are violating Google’s rules.

I would say to continue posting keyword rich content to your website and
hopefully your website will rank back up to number 1.

Thanks for all the information here with replies to me. My website seems to be going from page 5 - 7. I've been checking it and it's just been back and forth since Thursday. I can't figure out what this exactly means but any further advice as to what to do would be appreciated.

Quick question I had was some of the links that I had pointing back to my site have been deleted and it's a large chunk of them. Would that have anything to do with this? I've been on number 1 page 1 for almost 9 months now it's down to page 5 - 7. I had my site completely disappear back in late December but came back in less than 2 weeks and now this. I just can't figure what else would have caused this problem?

If you have had some good quality High PR links removed maybe from a Homepage Blog Network then it's almost guarantees that this is the reason why your site has dropped in rankings.

Build backlinks, & get people to stay on your site for a longer period of time, as your site's bounce rate will effect its rankings.

What kind of linkbuilding have you done, if any at all?

Has your site been compromised or hacked? There's a recent Wordpress hack going around that's pretty sneaky and only works if someone searches your site in Google and goes to your website from Google. This greatly affects bounce rates of websites, which could be the reason for your drop.
