You have to check carefully. If you are commenting on good blogs and if those blogs doesn't allow for using the keyword in the Name field then you must use name otherwise you can use Keyword.

If the site allows for it, using keywords as the name when blog commenting can be useful for anchor text.

This is a very good strategy. Just be sure that you are being ethical about what you are posting.

Keyword anchor text is still valued when you can get it. However putting keywords in the name field, is not what that field is for, and will often times immediately flag your comment as spam to the moderator. It often times will not matter if you actually post a valuable comment. If you put keyword in the name field, your comment will often times be removed, or sometimes the link will just be removed and the comment approved. Your best bet is to follow the blogs guidelines if they have any, and look at what other commentors have posted. Sometimes you will find blogs that have approved keyword rich backlinks in the name field. When you find one, you may also be able to post yours. Keep in mind, some blogs, like Encyclopedia Britannica, the comments are moderated by the individual moderators, and some moderators may allow keyword links, while others will not. Lastly, if you support commentluv, you can get backlinks for your most recent blog post, and if your blog posts has your keywords in it, then you will get a keyword backlink. It will also be followed as well. |

Check the blog first. If nobody else is using their keywords, then chances are your comment won't get approved. (If it's a manual approval blog.) You can, however, use a mixture of the two. This should help your chances of approval as opposed to using JUST your keywords. For example: "Rob From LCD Monitor Reviews" |

The main reason why we do comment. It is just to rank the keyword in Google if you use name in the name section and this name is not included in the website title so this name will be useless either Blog Owner approves it or not. Always watch it carefully that a blog owner approves the comments when someone places the keyword in the name section.

You should use keyword/keyword phrase at place of name in blog comments and all other back links.

Much preferable to use keywords in the content. Putting your keyword in the name section will be considered as spamming by the moderators. So it would be much better to include your keyword in the content of your comment. But always remember that either of the two (keyword or name) is still useless if the moderator is not in the good mood in approving comments |

When creating a quality comment, it is preferable to put your keyword on the comment itself.

Name is not useless. You still get juice and if newbs do basic keyword research, it will show more links and deter competition. Only advanced marketers take time to analyze anchor text competiton.

As an average blog owner I can tell you that unless you put a name in the comment field I will delete your comment 100% of the time no matter how relevant it was.

If my keywords were "internet marketing", I'd usually use both by writing something like - "Pete from the internet marketing blog". It looks less spammy, and you will find you probably get more comments approved. |

Well, if you see that blog is moderated - more chances for your comment to be approved if you leave your name as a link, and keywords work for non moderated blogs.

This is Good time to clarify your doubts. Most of us using their keywords for their blog comment purpose. Not all of us doing this for our keyword purpose. Some of us using blog commenting for best reviews in their profession. Its not too fair to place our long tail keyword as Anchor text. i have fount some blog comments like ( Name and Keyword ) short. e.g - Jose from eGrove Systems |

From very high authority blogs, that are only accepting constructive comments, using your kwd is not good idea - always use name in this case to look more natural.

| That's how I do it. Even then, some blog owners are pretty strict and won't approve your comments no matter how good they are. If so, move on.
