Difference between Adsense and Amazon:

Google Adsense:
Google AdSense offers various types of advertisements. Google AdSense ads are either pay per click or cost per click (CPC), cost per 1000 impressions (CPM) and pay per action.. etc. In the first, advertiser pay only when visitors click on the ads, in the second advertisers pay the moment an ad is displayed, and the third, the hardest, advertiser only pay when visitor perform some action such as purchasing the product on offer. Associates may be attributed to the fact that Google AdSense ads were placed in more prominent positions above the fold.

Amazon:
Amazon Associates only offers one. Amazon associates only offers ads on the basis of pay per action, that is, only when visitors purchase for Amazon's offerings. Amazon Associates ads were placed in less prominent positions below the fold.

One tip I just discovered today
Usually when I research a niche, I get attached to certain kws
and then I think "I know the kws that get searched on this niche"

WRONG
In the one new niche I was searching, I was having a hard time finding enough kws
with 500 searches a month I wanted about 30 or more

Then I went back to the adwords kw tool, and I unchecked exact and put broad
and then I unchecked ....only related to my term

so it would bring up ALL related kw terms

found a ton of ones I had not thought of

Adsense but only because i live in Cali and they banned us.

I currently own a authority site last yr I was experimenting with amazon. Its only great if you have a list you can blast to which can easily make you a lot of money in a little time frame. Adsense feels more consistent.

If you want adsense to do well. Offer amazing content, make sure your template works with the site, adsense colors are similar to things people click on your site and your continuously removing some of the advertisers not relevant to your site.

DO NOT GO WITH BROAD SEARCHES!!! Broad searches refer to searches with any combo of those words. So if you choose "radical blue widgets" the broad match shows when each individual word is searched, in any combination of other words as well.

Only use exact!!

When looking at the CPC of your word check in the Contextual Targeting Tool inside Google Adwords. These are the prices that are being paid in the content ( adsense ), where the the prices normally show are for searches.

Jeff, I have a question for you if you don't mind.

I saw in one of your earlier posts that after publishing a new post on one of your sites, you right 10 BMR articles for that new post. You then later go back and continue link building that page until it reaches the top 3, did I get that correct?

My question is, what are you doing/using to further build links for the new posts on your sites? Do you continue to use BMR until you reach your desired ranking or do you use something else?

Thanks for all of the info by the way, very helpful.

My initial back linking methods use hootsuite and ping.fm. I am also going to be testing out WPSocialPipes which expands like 100 fold what I do with ping,fm for initial back links.

Then, my primary links are built using BMR. I have found that with the strength that BMR holds you don't need a whole lot more. If you want, sure, build more. But the QUALITY of BMR is what counts in the end.

So yes, I keep plugging BMR links at my site, until I get the rankings I want. I do this for each keyword. It takes some time yes, but since I start with the easiest ones to rank for first, I get more keywords ranked quicker than if I focused on the ones with the most traffic, because they are the ones that are usually the hardest to rank for and take longer.

Jeff , this thread belongs to you ,mate

Thanks a lot...

What about the backlinks? Do you see any problem in building links to the pages fast????
Let's say: 600 links in 3 weeks after the site has been indexed...

Well with ping.fm I get about 20 backlinks through that each time I make a new post/page. Then I make 10/day with BMR.

You don't need a ton of links to get ranked in Google. Not by a long shot. Use high quality ones from networks like BMR and you will see some amazing results!!

No, on an adsense site I strictly stay with making money from adsense.

On my website I use Adsense for main income and Amazon for secondary choice for site visitors. That works pretty well.

btw Thanks Jeff for his inputs through this post. learn a lot and got some idea.

Hi Jeff,
I apologize if you have already covered this.
You say you put multiple posts on your home page. Do you then assign them to a category and if so doesn't that make for duplicate content on your site?
Thanks.

I can't believe how much lies and "no nothing" are in this thread.
Amazon > Adsense
Unless you have no experience you should know that. Seriously. The ratio of amazon to adsense and the difference is really big. around 3:1.
Even though amazon needs buyer keywords, it is much worth it.

And above someone said they are making $500 per month with AdSense. I call BS.
You can make that easily with affiliate marketing and amazon but not adsense.

This statement couldn't be more false! Where do you get the idea that it's impossible to make $500+ per month using nothing more than Adsense? There are thousands of people not only earning that, but MUCH MORE each month.

I've seen you post the same thoughts in other threads regarding Adsense. Maybe you've had a bad experience and were not able to earn any "good" money from Adsense, but that doesn't mean that others don't absolutely CRUSH IT every month.

It's just as easy for me to say "You can't earn $500 per month with Amazon, Clickbank or affiliate marketing in general" - but there is no point, especially when it's clear that people are doing this and much more every single month.

Point is, your claims of being unable to earn this type of income with Adsense don't have a ground to stand on, but two each his own.

There are so many good Adsense courses, ebooks and coaching programs out there.

Just Google "best adsense course" with or without the quotes and you will find a few.

You can then Google the name of the course and add "warrior forum" after the name like this: "product warrior forum" and you will probably find unbiased reviews of that particular product in the Warrior Forum.

Some warriors also offer Adsense WSO's, so you can check them as well.

In fact, I am one of them so you could take a look at my own WSO

Just click the banner in my sig below

I hope that this helps.

To your success,
Tony Alves

Adsense pays when the visitor clicks on an ad link. You get the money one month after you reach $100 in your earn income.

Amazon pays when someone pays for an Item. The more items bought in a month, the more commission you get per items retroactive to the start of the month. You get the check 2 months after you earn the income.

So here is a starter example:

If you choose 10 keywords to target, and they get 5000 searches a month on average. You can expect to get 2500 approximately if you are in the 1st spot in google. And it converts at 5%, that is 125 clicks a month. Lets say the CPC is $3 a click; you get 68% of that, which works out to be about $2.04 a click. If you get the 125 clicks/month that is about $250 a month for that one site.
great posts jeff they are really a lot of help for me!

the math above is the way i would look at it as well but isn't the ctr about impressions and not about vistis?
so if your avg. visitor looks at 2 sites of your website wouldn't the earnings double?
it seems like the math above would only be right if non of the visitors would visit multiple sites at your website

please correct me if i am wrong and sorry if my english isn't the best

Hi everyone.

thanks Jeff for all this amazing info, I really enjoyed this thread.

Jeff mentioned earlier on in his backlinking strategy that he used hootsuite
linked to ping.fm and opened accounts with some of the social media sites
listed in Ping.fm.
so my question is when you do this,
1. do you this for every site. I mean set all the accounts created in ping.fm are being used for just the 1 site. or you use this system for other niche sites you have. sorry hope thats clear.
2. when you set up the accounts in ping.fm, ie: like facebook, do you give youre real details or create a false avatar for each account you set up

I guess what im trying to say is if I have 10 adsense sites do I create 10 different facebook, twitter, tumblr ect accounts via ping.fm

thanks in advance

I believe that Adsense is better and can make money for you easier and more. I never tried Amazon and i think its not perfect as Adsense. But it can be an alternative for Adsense if you can't use Adsense for any reason.
