I was wondering how many warriors here are having difficulty ranking their website for targeted keywords? I had a 1 year old domain & site that I wasn't using for anything and I decided to see if I could rank it for my new niche. My new niche and domain name have nothing in common. I started this on Sept 1st, going after a keyword with 18,400 exact local searches. 3 weeks later, on Sept 19, I'm bouncing between #25-#35 on page 3. I made sure to use a diversity of building backlinks and I also wrote down each step so that way I could duplicate it later for my next project. Yes it's possible to rank a keyword without the keyword in the domain. I still have 1 more link building strategy I'm going to implement which is a press release. I do believe this helps with serps and you can gain a lot of momentum through Google with the right press release and exposure. Once I try to duplicate my process on my 2nd niche and website, I'm still deciding if I should write an ebook about my case study to help those struggling with ranking a site. It depends if I have time or not I guess. Total to date I've spent about $150 in outsourcing fees and I've made 4 sales which has covered the costs. I didn't do any of the labor work myself and don't plan to. If you have any questions, need some guidance or help, I'll do my best to answer all questions. Keep at it, stay motivated and don't give up, it is possible! |

It is really a exciting news for the newbie who are struggling to rank the new website.I think the rank of the site don't depend on the keywords in domain(maybe someone say it more or less effect the rank sometimes) .The SERP depends on the quality backlinks you get for the relevant keywords in the site. The more quality backlinks you get,the higher rank you will get in searcn engines. We know there are many ways to get the quality backlinks, like blog posts and commenting, press release, article submission, forum posting and social bookmarking sites etc. All the work we do is to gain the favor of google or yahoo, right? and we also should consider the visitor's taste mostly.I think you must hold the key of the seo to rank your site well in a short time. |

Even i have couple of sites which are not EMDs and they are brand new domains currently sitting on page 2, rank 13th and other is on page 3 rank 27th. Keyword research is very very important step.
