Default How much keyword per niche site

Hello,

How much keyword should I add to my new niche site? At the moment I'm focusing on only 1 keyword.

You could try expanding to 5-6 and see how that goes, that's not a bad number IMO

Don't focus on one keyword, you'll regret it. Focusing on just one keyword is going to lead to an over optimization penalty and your site getting sand boxed quickly. Try a 60/20/20 ratio with 3 different keywords, 60% being your main keyword. If you can, I'd recommend spreading it out even further with 5-10+ keywords to keep the footprint less obvious.

I would have one to three keywords per page or post. I would also recommend putting up as much content as you can with different keywords. This is much like fishing and the bigger your net is the more fish you can catch.

I'd agree with the above, focus on a single keyword and deritives of it, e.g.

weight loss
natural weight loss
weight loss for teens
weight loss for seniors

and so on.

I have each page set up focused around a single keyword but use LSI keywords as well - not had any issues with sandboxing and found Google has liked the content so far.

All the best

jason

Not a single one of my sites focuses on a single keyword exclusively, I would say that roughly my sites have 75% SEO focus on the main keyword and 25% on secondary keywords.

Think of it as a "work in progress", always evolving. some of my sites have multiple pages, and all of them are optimized slightly differently, and never static.

I check often to see which keywords are working and where they compare against the others. I do not make changes on a daily basis, but I try to remain aware of which keywords are producing what results.

In addition, I look at which keywords are moving up, and what their potential is. If I see a keyword is moving up in the SERPs, and has potential traffic while remaining competitive, I will re-optimize to take advantage of this. I make these changes slowly and deliberately over time, it's kind of like a chess match for me.

Having one keyword and getting it to work for you is golden. Having multiple keywords that are producing can be gold.

I agree with Benjamin Ehinger , it's a lot like fishing, which takes patience, and sometimes you have to move from one spot to another, but only after you have cast in all directions.

if you could target 3-4 more keywords then that's good that could be your alternative keywords that will give way for search for your site. But if you want for much surprising rank then go for one keyword, here you could see the maximum possibility and intense of the keyword you choose. Most especially, if this been done properly you would find your site on the top page of search engine much worth working for.

Well you can use 2-3 keywords in a web page but it should be related to each other for ex.- Mobile application development, mobile application developers.

This is a pretty good strategy. Just so you are aware the 25% of secondary keywords you will also see called LSI keywords.

This is not true and I think the poster of this comment meant 5 to 6 keywords per webpage. I have websites that target hundreds of keywords and they do very well.

This is also a good strategy and you are right. If you only focus on one keyword it can also make your content hard for the reader to understand.
