Adsense ads on one of my biggest sites stopped working yesterday in middle of afternoon.... My site is split into 2 parts.. a forum and a regular main page using wordpress...both have been fine, with no unusual activity.. Google adsense on my other sites are working ok still.. Any idea what would cause this? I havent received any emails from google about it. It happened a few months back but it corrected itself after 4 or 5 hrs.. But now i am going on almost a full day now...I tried adding fresh new ad.. no luck.. Any suggestions? thanks! |

Perhaps they banned your site from displaying Google ads?

| Wonder why that would happen? I thought it might have been something with the coding. I have noticed in recent months, ads wouldnt be loading all the way or not at all.. sometimes for a few hrs, then it would be back. But my account and other sites are still working ok.. Wouldn't they send an email regarding this? And since the account isnt banned. If there is an issue, is this easy to resolve? or are google still major pricks about not budging on anything? i remember a few yrs ago they were like that.. thx for the reply... |

robots.txt missing has nothing to with anything. In fact, most people should not even have one, or at least just a blank one. Search Bots look for the robots.txt by design first. Not found, no big deal. Webmasters just can't stand to see errors, so they panic. Google not being able to go through the facebook like button is a non-issue as well. Either your pages now have adsense disabled, or you have other coding issues. That would not mean you are banned, just the pages. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the adsense bot does anything via the robots.txt. It tries to go through the page you have the adsense on. You can put adsense on pages that are not indexed or crawled yet by the regular googlebot. Paul |
