They should add minimum post condition to have links in signature.

Too many people just want to spam everywhere. I don't get it. It basically just defeats the object of SEO. I suppose they aer just the lazy who want quick wins for themselves and f*ck the rest of us.

The number of spammers is becoming overwhelming. I think it would be beneficial to the community to add a few more moderators. I have to imagine it is a really difficult job for the moderators to keep up with all the threads and posts, plus spend time in their real life. I wouldn't really complain if they got rid of signatures altogether. Then see how many people post useless drivel. |

Biggest problem now is to find the difference between real question by real members and spam question posted by spammer just to increase post count. So it is difficult to help real members. |

Just make the signatures NO FOLLOW... Real people will post real questions, that add value. And if they ve written something else (like 500 1000+ words) of the answer on their blog people will go and visit it. I see no problems with this whatsoever, but these "I love your post!" and 10 links for "Cialis" "Bamboo furniture" "Guitar lessons" in the signature is B.S.! I think there should also be moderation for the CONSTANT pop-ups of the same exact questions which have been answered 1000 times in 1000 topics. People trying to get an answer to a quewstion that was not addresses before get thronw on page 3. in 10 minutes and noone even sees it... Hope the admins are listening... My 2 cents.. Buyseech |

I think the biggest problem with this section of WF is the allowance of overall crappy and low quality posts that would get accounts banned on just about every other forum. Not sure why the leniency of posts like "I agree" "Sound good, agree me too" and garbage like that. Really should have an updated policy about this if you ask me. |

The leniency is not on the part of the official mods - they just don't see it if those who frequent this section don't bring it to their attention. Remember, this forum gets hundreds of new posts every day and moderators are volunteers. There is no possible way for them to catch all this stuff, particularly in the subforums. | |

I think some effective cost-efficient solutions would be to A) make a minimum post requirement before allowing sig links - as someone said above, or B) minimum post requirement before allowing users to start their own threads, or C) nofollow sig links, or D) all of the above or some combination of the above.

On some other forums, like v7n, I see people being banned on a regular basis. Maybe banning more people is the answer. More people should just try to answer questions and add something.

I have no problem with upping the post count before signatures are allowed. I wish there was a way to stop spammers from asking the same questions over and over again...Sometimes it is hard to find genuine content or answers. Any recommendations on other SEO forums with less spam? |

Really? What spam posts? I am on this for at least 3 hours a day and I feel that I don't see a lot of spam. Maybe its just because I can not tell what is/not spam? If you think a post is spam simply because they have a link in their post.... thats not true. |

I thought links WERE nofollow. Does it bug you that I have a link in my sig? I could make it read (dot) org instead of .org?

Friends, it is not very difficult to differentiate real members from those ** spammers. I also beleive that there are some evergreen questions, folks always try to find. But you would probably say that 'search before ask' ... Is it good for this forum? There are already nearly 6000000 threads have been posted, probably 90% would.... have... your answers... Personally I came this forum just to build backlinks, but I'm in love with this forum because of you guys, and backlinks ... Are nothing more than crap** |

It is not happening any more in the Reviews section, where it used to be much worse than this. ;-) If only one of the mods from there would volunteer to help out here too ;-) Pearson |

I don't think people on a whole mind posts for sig links, if the questions and answers are meaningful. The problem is, too many people cargo on crapola about nothing to spam posts. I think I stopped by yesterday and saw the first half of the posts nothing but one liners like, "What google is? I help need please me." And idiot people actually answering them! The good stuff has been getting buried lately. But come on, Yukon. Stop by daily just for laughs. Paul |

Allen has agreed that I can moderate in this forum. One thing that strikes me immediately is that there are not enough stickies at the top of the forum. That would cut down on the endless similar questions about Adsense, Google dance etc. I hope some of you experienced people will help me with that. By the way, I earn about four thousand dollars a month from Adsense and I have several number one sites so I do have a bit of relevant experience. Not much good on PPC though. I used it a lot in the days of goto.com and overture but it is too much like hard work for me these days ;-) Pearson |

I've only been a member of this forum for approximately two months. Even within this time I have seen the amount of spam increasing quite significantly. It certainly is frustrating when what could be a very valuable thread for discussion becomes filled with "me too" and "thanks for sharing".... the thanks button is there for a reason! It's no surprise that in my time the people who I value contributions from the most are mainly those who have commented on this particular thread. @Yukon I do hope you choose to stay on this forum as you do provide a very valued opinion. Refreshing too that you don't have any agenda to upsell WSO's or other services when you do share and contribute. With Pearson so kindly becoming a moderator and this thread itself (and this one: Reporting spam in this section ) hopefully serving as a kick up the... for all members of the forum who do see its value, I'm optimistic that the report button will be actioned on a lot more. Personally, I would have no problem seeing signature links being unavailable to anyone who have below a certain post/thanks count, all links becoming nofollow, or even sig links being removed completely in this forum. More stickies for FAQs, Rules of the Forum, and additional moderators could really help out. And, as Tina mentioned above, the greater focus on member moderator might see this forum contain only valuable information for those who want to learn and share. |

While we're on the subject of cluttering and such, I also get tired of seeing the exact same recycled questions being asked over and over again by different people. People seem to forget that the forum has a search feature or that you can simply search in Google and use "site:warriorforum.com" - I do this all the time. I suppose it's just something you've got to put up with, but if I had a dime for every time I've seen a new thread or answered a question concerning .info's and TLD's, I'd be able to quit IM altogether and retire..... |

An you know what dudes. I know I don't really post here that much. But I feel as though it isn't just the blatant spam that makes these forums suck. It is the frustratingly stupid posts that dominate the boards. Indecisive spineless nitwits that can't make a simple decision and learn. Just waiting for people to tell them what they want to hear. Stuff like. "Should I bother about social bookmarking?" "How rare is an actual pr 8 link low OBL?" "Should I Ping my backlinks every 2 or three days?" "Is Article Marketing Dead?" People going over the same stuff and acting like Moses feeding the peasants with their list of high PR Article directories. Then you have to put up with 4000 nitwits upping the post by thanking them and saying "good tip". And Generic responses like. "That can be a vary profitable method...if used correctly" "Great now you can just scale and make $100 XD" I swear if IM's made a concsious choice to eschew all Internet Marketing Idioms and bs terminology they would do a lot better because it would force you to actually think. |

Seems like there's spam even in this thread. I left most of this forum for this reason a few months ago. I kept asking for smaller signatures, a minimum number of posts before being allowed one and so on but it seems that months passed and nothing changed. |

I mostly just ignore spam. I guess since I know what it is all about (products specifically telling people to post here, people who don't know the difference between a post and spam) I really try not to let it bother me. After reading this thread, I realize I am not doing my share here. I may not have a lot of good advice to offer but I do enjoy reading and interacting with other people out there exploring the final entrepreneurial frontier. Going forward I am going to try to make better use of the report button. It really takes no effort. I don't want to see the talented people give up on this great resource. There are other forums but they pale in comparison to the Warrior Forum. |
