I've never used a blog network like BMR, but I've always wondered this. What's the difference between submitting an article to a blog network, and submitting an article to a bunch of article directories with something like Article Marketing Robot? Yes, I know, blog networks like BMR have high PR on their homepages, but how long does your article actually stay on that homepage? I assume not very long at all because of the huge number of subscribers submitting content daily. So in the end, your article ends up on a PR n/a or 0 inner page, just as it would if you were submitting to a bunch of free directories. That's my understanding of it. Am I right in thinking about it that way, or am I totally missing something?

It's just good to have your finger in a lot of pies (I hate that expression, but couldn't think of anything better :P). Why not submit to everything that you can? I use AMR as well as networks.

You are actually right, but with good content, you have the chance of getting on a blog that doesn't accept lots of articles. I have a couple of blogs that I only accept like 0.05% of articles which are thrown my way, for example, and these would get a fair bit of link juice.
