Default Backlinking a new site?

Is it ok to start backlinking without the site being indexed?

Also, if so, how hard should I backlink? And what methods for a new site?

I realize 1000's and 1000's from all directions might be a bit much even if drip fed...so is there a general rule for a brand new site?

500? diverse links? 200?

Or it really doesn't matter?

Thoughts?

The general rule is to get as many backlinks as humanly possible,
as soon as possible.

Why wait? I am not sure why people have this question often.

When do you want to earn money, now or later?

Paul

Don't start overflowing your site with links, but start out with a few links here and there and get it on Twitter for more than one reason. If you need it indexed - Twitter helps. But it also looks like people are talking about it (Social Signals), which will help you out with rankings.

What I generally do is create a few social bookmarks to ensure my site is indexed and then I go off and start my serious backlinking.

quality and related backlinks are much, much better than quantity and unrelated backlinks. So looking for quality and related backlinks would benefits you in the long-term.

I'd suggest, wait until your site is indexed and then implement On-Page SEO first. Then find backlinks.

Good luck

I think Wait for a week for the search engine to index your site naturally.

But still don't forget to submit your sitemap to Google webmaster tool.

As long as you can get backlinks from other sites, there are no limits, and I would suggest to implement different link building techniques in order to get good rankings in search engine.

I think you should build the website and then leave it for 2-3 months. After that, go ahead and build a resonable ammount of daily backlinks.

Do NOT send 10.000 backlinks at once to a new website, wait at least a year to do so.

I almost always start with a combination of directory sites and social bookmarks usually after the site is indexed. After that i get some edu or other backlinks a a few weeks later. You should never go overboard with links on a new site

I would be doing a few backlinking manually for a few weeks.

Let it go for a while, then using some backlinking service.
Tier backlinks from a few dummy blogs then blast the dummy blogs preferred.
