Penalized or not?

Hello Warriors, I'm in a bit of desperate need for help, i need to know if i have been penalized. I have been trying to rank this keyword for 5 months for my homepage but no results. However we have successfully ranked some other pages with different keywords.

Something very strange is when i search on google for my website name, a sub page shows up on page one.. and our facebook fan page shows up on page two. but i looked at 10 pages of searches, my homepage is no where to be found!

However, i am not de-indexed, because when i search my website with the ".com" at the end, it shows up as #1.

Do you think my site is penalized?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

hey thanks for the reply, but my robots.txt is

User-agent: *
Disallow:

Remove that robots.txt and use below one:

User-agent: *
Allow: /

The reason you come up #1 when you enter the .com is because you are pulling your own site. You will always show up #1 entering this way.

i think that has the same effect as the disallow tag but i changed it anyway.
