Default Blog Comment Backlinks - TROUBLE!

Hi there,

I have been blog commenting heavily in the past few days to create backlinks for my sites.

I give relevant comments and I do them manually (I believe being as white hat as possible). At the rate of about 100 comments a day.

Today, I realized that I can't seem to make comments anymore? When I hit the post comment button, my comment does not appear, I don't even see the 'your comment is awaiting moderation message'. I also can't comment on pages that accept comments without moderation.

I know this for sure because I am able to leave comments on those same sites through the HIDEMYASS proxy website. But not without proxy.

Looks like my IP has been banned by wordpress.

Any of you guys faced similar issues? Will I be able to comment again?

------------------------------------

LATEST UPDATE!

Thanks guys for all the response. Am updating to let you know that (it seems) I can't add comments to promote one of my websites anymore. I can still add comments to backlink my other sites, but not this particular site.

I gather that it is probably that i tried to add 100 backlinks to backlink 3 pages on this particular website in a single day. Although the blog comments are on 100 different site, I gather that most of them are on wordpress and somehow, that particular website has probably been labeled as spam.

Lesson learned! Never over promote (through blog commenting) a particular website in a single day.

Best of luck to you guys and thanks again!

Unless all the blogs you commented on were hosted at Wordpress.com, then it wont be Wordpress thats banned you. Its more likely that enough webmasters have flagged your comments as spam that your IP address is now in a spam checking database.

100 comments a day is pretty excessive to be honest. I wouldnt leave more than 5 per day for any one site. For best results I also never use anchor text as my name unless there are multiple comments already accepted with that.

Yes I agree..100 comments per day is too much when it comes to the ideal number of backlinks that should be made daily. If you really want to be white as possible then you must have known already that you should focus on quality and not the quantity of your links.

So if I make 26 comments today, Google might ban me? I bet at 27 I will be in real trouble then.

That is complete nonsense. You can do 100 everyday, once a week, whatever. It will take weeks for the search engines to find those links. And 100 links is not even a blip on the radar for Google.

To the OP, your IP address has been banned by Akismet most likely. Stop spamming.

I don't do 100 per day per website. I do about 30 blog comments per website per day.

Anyway guys, thanks so much for the update, I can blog comment again as usual. I think most of the blogs out there are hosted on Wordpress and I think there is a built in mechanism to prevent SPAM, maybe by pin pointing an IP, your website or your email. Anyways have learned my lesson

LESSON LEARNED: Will probably reduce my commenting to 60 blog comments a day from now..

Thanks again guys!

Also to consider: if you're working on 3 websites a day with comments, are you commenting on the same blogs for all 3 sites? If so, stop - if you're not changing your IP then that's ridiculously easy to spot and ban.

Glad to hear you're back to normal for now, anyway.

I do not comment on the same blogs. each of the 90 or 100 blogs that I comment on every day are different.

There's nothing white hat about what you're doing.

Doing it manually doesn't change the fact that it's SPAM and adds no value. That's why they blocked your site. Should've just went ahead and use a service/software if you were going to blog comment.

I don't see where the OP said she left spammy comments. As long as you're giving the websites value, there's no problem with leaving a link back to a site.

Newsflash: There is no comment link that adds value to the site. No matter
how important people think they are, your comment for a link is spam.

Even comments without links can be spam, example
"google my domain dot com to find the best sales for hats..."
seems to be the new wave of spam without spam.

You have to do blog commenting the right way. But my right way
is for targeted traffic, not backlinks. If you get a backlink at
the same time, icing on the cake.

Seems to me that if you do 100 comments a day as described, you
are just randomly posting comments anywhere. Not a good idea.

Mike F. hit the nail on the head when he said stop spamming.

Wow! 100 manual comments a day is real dedication. I have only been doing about 5 per day.

Well the best idea for doing blog commenting is to search for website that allow isnt approval of your comment with you link and the crawler of Google is able to crawl the website as quickly as possible....

Posting around 100 blog comments a day is quite a lot, however it doesn't mean it's too much. If you have a low ranked website with not much traffic and suddenly google discovers 1000's of new links, it will look suspicious. However, if you have an e-commerce site with 5 employees doing just SEO every day for the past 3 years, then 100 posts a day would look like a normal amount.

There is not problem with leaving a backlink if it is a site you participate at frequently because you like the site and/or community. However, in 99.999999% of cases you specifically sought out the site in order to get a backlink.

You can dice it anyway you would like, but that is spamming. You can sugarcoat it and try to convince yourself that you are leaving "a comment of value" (which is one of the dumbest things I hear people say) if that helps you sleep better at night, but you are still spamming websites for backlinks.

Putting a little more thought into your comment doesn't make what you are doing any better than the people who shoot out Scrapebox blasts.

Just admit it and get over it.

I think your IP is got listed in black list. As you said you have commented in same site again and again. It consider as a spam.

Try and use a different name and email address. If a spam protector labelled your identification as spam, all future comments on other blogs with that same id will likely be blocked.

He is right! With the email adress but the name is the link anchor text and you can change that only if you want to rank for other keyword. My advice is to not use only one keyword per blog, mix them up on every blog you comment. Use 3-4 keywords (names) per blog and each with different email adress.

Definitely. I can still comment using the same email address and from my computer at home. I just can't comment anyone and leave THAT PARTICULAR WEBSITE ADDRESS.

Anyhow. I don't believe in spam too.

Believe it or not, I actually quickly read through the content of each of the websites before leaving a relevant comment on them. Some of the comments are actually 40-50 words long.

I try to be as white hat as possible doing this.... so far this is the whitest I can figure out for blog commenting.

I would strongly recommend anyone who plan to do blog commenting for backlinks to leave relevant blog comments with as much value as possible. I am all for that

Definitely sounds like Akismet. Fortunately, there's PLENTY of non-akisment blogs out there. That's just part of the risk you take with blog commenting. Even on high quality, manual approval blogs. If you're really worried, in the future, you can grab a .info for cheap and set up a 301 redirect. That way you won't have to worry about your primary domain being flagged by Akismet.

Or you can create a buffer page that links TO your site, and point your comments at that. (A squidoo lens, hub, article, whatever.) This is also something I suggest if you're going to go the Scrapebox "blast" route.
