Adsense and Facebook PPC?

Hey guys,

I have a client whos thinking of using Facebook ppc to drive traffic to his site, but hes running adsense on it. Does anyone know if this is in violation of adsense rules? I find their TOS so hard to make out.

Is this pure traffic arbitrage? Meaning is the goal for most of visitors to click the Ads?
As long as its quality traffic you'll be fine most likely. If not Adsense will prob scrub your earnings and thats how you'll know

I don't see any problem with the idea, for as long as there's nothing like "click my ads to see this content" sorta campaign on the landing page. You can drive traffic in any way you want to your site, but on the part of monetizing it with Adsense, it should be your visitors intent, no matter where they come, to click on them, not you telling them to do so.

If he is monetizing with Adsense, he is going to waste his money. Adsense is best monetized with free traffic primarily coming from the search engines.

Tell him to use Facebook PPC with CPA.

I would quibble just a bit with your assertion.

Whether it is "free traffic" or not has absolutely nothing to do with it. What matters is how targeted the traffic is. If you can find a way to bring highly targeted traffic to your landing pages, that doesn't violate any AdSense policies, you should do well. Paid traffic that does a good job of generating highly targeted traffic can be a virtual goldmine for AdSense revenue. The trick is to find a way to tap into that highly targeted traffic without paying a higher cost than your ad space generates.

I do agree that search engine traffic is often the best source, just not always.

I somewhat agree with the post above and these days the cost of clicks on facebook is pretty high so I am not sure if your friend will make any profit from that adsense site if using facebook ppc as traffic source.

And yes there may be some traffic arbitrage issues there also but that depends on the quality of the content on the site and how the ads are placed also.

Even though it is allowed to use the facebook ppc and adsense together on a site.But i think it is not a smart action to earn money by this method.I think you will pay more ads fees with little advenue. I think the originice targeted traffic will make a better results

There will not be any problem and this is not a violation of Adsense rules but it would be better to build a facebook fan page for his site where his Facebook ad will lead and offer there a free offer in order to make visitors subscribe in his mail list, this will be much more profitable on the long run than just lead them on his site with Adsense ads where probably his click thru rate is 2-3%
