Hi.. I was just wondering if we start working manually how long does it takes for us to get ranking and good traffic.I know there are lots of article syndication networks, social bookmarking ...other services which perhaps would make things easier and faster..but for a beginner who can give time but investments are difficult.. So how can he get rankings.. is manual work the only choice. If somebody knows good manual networks please share them here so that everyone one on the forum gets benefited. |

I do SEO manually. In general the time for the results to show are in the range of 3 to 6 months depending on the niche and age of the website. As you would have known each SEO practioner has his/her own ways to doing things.Personally I give weightage to topical backlinks, commenting, social bookmarking and press releases.I tend to use articles, but very few high class articles submitted at select locations.

Your success in the metamorphosis of your website from nothing/lowly competitor to a #1 ranking website depends upon your effort and the niche.

It depense on your keyword. I do most of the SEO work manually and got good results already after a short time periode. And with other keywords I needed help which are probably in the category "not manuall" ![]() Networks are everywhere. Also depense what you want. RSS submissions, guest author in blogs, social bookmarks, etc. |

I've managed to rank my site on #1 (1900 exact searches) in about 3 months. And that was my first project, ever. 1. On-page SEO 2. Writing and submitting my articles manually (2x/week) 3. Bookmarking every now and then That's all I ever did... Guess it's 80% about choosing the right keywords |

You cant beat manual link building when it come to SEO. No matter what even if you own the latest fancy SEO tool.... Its just tedious.... estimating time of results is almost impossible... it depends on your competition and 100+ other factors...

| I think that is the point. I have tried diligently performing SEO on sites with link wheels, silos, whole mini-nets and mini blog networks on different servers, article submission and article syndication. I've also tried automatic methods... link scraping, auto blogging etc.. and I have even tried using software to get links to your backlinks. In the end to me there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which site will rank better. I think it would be fair to say that in my experience, the best raking sites I have had have been the most natural ones, the ones that are simply offering quality content. I have also had sites rank really well with hardly any SEO or backlinking at all... just a well configured WP blog. So yes... a natural site in the right niche with the right keywords IMHO is as good a way as any to get a good ranking... If you have the wrong keywords it doesn't matter how many backlinks you have you will not get the desired results from your web site. |

There is a lot of good info out there to get backlinks for nothing... if you have the time and not the money then it is all doable... put some hours in and you will get results. As mentioned though you need to have a handle on keyword research too, otherwise you may be shooting for something so hard that it puts you off of trying again... try to start with something easier so you can see results then you will get all fired up and feel like you can achieve anything... and half the battle is mindset especially when you are doing it yourself. |
