This is usual one to redirect our link to our desired URLs. But so many SEOs don know about the redirection like me. How much type is there and how to do this redirection like 301 so on. I have some knowledge only in coding and know basic html code. But my friends told me that according to the languages like php, joomla ... it will vary. what to do for this confusion. is there any way and answer for my confusion. |

In general there is only 2 types of redirection - 301 and 302 301 - Permanent redirection - As the name suggest when you 301 redirect a URL to another, it tells search engine crawler that URL has been permanently transferred to new URL. This is the preferred way for redirection in webmasters 302 - Temporary Redirection - When you 302 redirect a URL to another, it suggests crawlers that temporarily fetch the content from 2nd URL. There are different setting for both the redirection according to the server like in a PHP site hosted on Apache server, HTAccess file is used to handle all the redirection whereas in IIS server redirection is done through server settings itself. |
