Default Awords direct linking vs bridge pages.

Hi, I just have a question regarding direct linking with adwords and sending traffic to your own landing page then linking to a sales page. Does google allow you to use a bridge landing page witch re directs to the actual sales page when someone clicks? Basically I want to send the adwords traffic to a pre sell (bridge page) first in order to keep the content original. Can one still obtain a high quality score when using this method?

With a bridge page? No. They prohibit these specifically. You might find the post in my sig helpful.

Examples of bridge pages:

Your own sales page where you have links going to your affiliate's sales page.

A page where you have links to buy, download or whatever it is but not landing on a page where you can actually do what you promised when I clicked on the link. If you have a buy now button and the next page is not an order page, that's a bridge page.

If you send your clicks to your own sales page, any link to your affiliate better not be their sales page. If your button says "buy it now", the next page better be the order page, not another sales page.

Thanks, so what would you say is the best way to promote affiliate landing pages on adwords?

Lots of good content
User interactivity
Go easy on affiliate links
Make use of Amazon's Add-to-Cart functionality
Build a brandable domain/site

The real key is to set your site up as an ecommerce site rather than an affiliate site.

Ok, but lets say that I want to promote a info affiliate product like a ebook, will it be better for me to link from adwords to a simple pre sell page and then send the traffic to the actual ebook sales page? My logic is that it must be bad to direct link from adwords to the affiliate landing page, because the content wont be unique. What do you think?

You NEVER want to direct link to the affiliate landing page because you have no control over it. Many folks have lost their AdWords accts for this specific reason.

Ebooks are more difficult, in my experience, to get approved by AdWords. A simple pre-sell page will almost always be declined by AdWords.

For ebooks and digital products, I recommend building a site around the topic the ebook addresses and then subtly driving traffic through an affiliate link on the page somewhere. If the ebook solves a problem, maybe include it (via affiliate link) and two or three other solutions (non-affiliated) and discuss each.

What do you mean it won't be unique content?

Even if you have other sites with the same content, I don't think it matters as much as most would make you believe.

You're welcome. Two ways obviously. Direct linking or create your own page. Advantage of first is quick and simple, no need to create anything. Disadvantage is you don't have control but you can minimize risk by studying Adwords rules and don't promote a page that doesn't follow them. Of course, they can always change the page in a way that it wouldn't follow the rules. Unlike Wolf, I would not say never do it, just be super careful. That leaves CB products off the list as 95% of them don't pass.

If you create your own, I said previously what wouldn't work so don't do it that way.
