What should I do about getting backliinks to my individual posts?

I have a physical product review site. The only back links I have pointing at internal pages of my site are from my rss feed and aggregators.

I find it easy to get the links to my index page, but should I be focusing on linking to different pages of my site and how do you do it?

Depends if you want to rank the individual posts as well. If your internal linking is good then you don't need to focus too hard on backlinking individual posts.

I think I leave about 80% to my homepage as that is what I really want to rank, and then 20% on the different posts.

I'm just trying to make sure everything looks natural to Google.

well the same tactics you use to get links to your index page you can use them to get links to your inner pages.

you also may want to consider going to fiverr.com and getting people to do $5 dollar backlinks blasts to your inner pages.

a lot of people use senuke and bookmarking demon as well as other programs to deliver backlinks.

You could also submit each post you make to stumbleupon..digg..and other social bookmarking sites.

tweet each post.

remember quality over quantity...thats the name of the game.

Use ONLYWire dot com to post social media updates through ALL the major social media sites and get others to re-blog or re-post your content. Its pretty sweet.

You build links to help build the overall authority of your website, which helps makes other pages rank easier. Some people have a tendency to build 99% of their links to the homepage, where they could actually boost their rankings by spreading a few links to their inner pages.

I agree completely.

I am one of the people that builds 99% of my links to pages OTHER than my homepage though. I do keyword research to find terms I think I can rank for, then put content on my site based on those keywords. It only makes sense to build links to the content written around keywords that I believe I can rank for.

I've never really understood why so many people build most of their links to the home page unless it's an exact match domain for a keyword they're trying to rank for and it's the only page they are interested in ranking.
