I have been reading about auto-blogging. What exactly is it? I know that might sound dumb, but I thought I understood it, but I really don't. |

Most times (not always) it's one guy scraping another websites content that they don't own. Wordpress & blogger have plugins (ways) to scrape content. Be careful, you piss off the wrong webmaster & your running Google Adsense, I'll be surprised If Google doesn't ban your Adsense account. Auto-blogging can be done in a legit way (most people don't do this). If you have hundreds-thousands of pages of content off-line, you can create an auto-blog & schedule a single blog post each day for 1-2 years, all on auto-pilot once it's setup. |

I don't use adsense much. I schedule blog posts to post in the future and I rotate my posts to get re-indexed, which really seems to work, btw, but I don't do auto-blogging. I just heard people talking about and I didn't know what it was. Thanks. |

Auto blogging is either ripping content from someone's website by RSS feeds or using other methods or drip feeding pre written content to you site using a scheduler. If it's your own content then your fine since you won't run the risk to tripping the ever growing Google Panda algorithm that is sweeping the net. If your running a scraper then I won't be get pissed if you wake up one morning to find your entire site dropped from the rankings. But that's just my 2 cent on auto blogging EDIT: Oh and if your using Adsense then you might as well be shooting off flares to the Google team. |

I thought RSS feeds were at least in part, intended as a way for people to post content on their sites. I have a bunch of related RSS feeds that I use for my forum. It gives the original content a link back and all, so I didn't think of that as stealing it, since the original site gets a link. Is it still the same if you're giving the author link credit? |

Well...it won't make you rich on its own, and is only as good as the skill and thought with which it is used. On the other hand, it can be a very useful addition to your marketing armory, and can make blogging just that little bit simpler. 3 keys to autoblogging success are: * a good mix of your own content and good quality syndicated content * a reliable plugin, AND... * ALWAYS preserving the original author's own links. Anything less will land you in hot water! |
