How long for backlinks to start showing up and affect ranking?

Hi,
I've been working on getting backlinks on quality sites and wanted to knw when I should start seeing those backlinks start showing up in backlink checkers? and when would they start helping my site?

If you put backlinks on high traffic sites like digg or technorati they'll soon be indexed by search engines.
Immediately the backlinks calculated in google calculation and if you got good traffic your SERP will increase.
You would not see your PR increase until the next google toolbar update.

Quality links will begin to benefit you immediately by sending you quality relevant traffic. If you aren't seeing this yet, I've got to ask, what makes you think those links are quality?

The most benefit you will get from quality backlinks is the highly targeted traffic they will send you. There is no waiting period for this to happen. As far as tools showing your backlinks that may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

2 weeks to 1 month... Depending on where you put your link.

My experience as well. If it takes longer than a month the link is probably on an orphan or very badly linked page, so pinging the page with your link on it or linking it from somewhere else can help.

Social bookmarking links for example are a great way to get links indexed. Most people just bookmark their own sites, to get them indexed, so why not do the same with pages linking TO your site with problems getting indexed...

It depends on how often Google visits the site where you have placed links. If its a high traffic site, it will generally be credited in hours.

From what I know it all depends on how often the site where your links are going from are being visited by the search engines like Big G.

I used Angela Edwards backlinks and they are all very high quality backlinks and they get linked within a day or a couple of days if the comment has to be moderated.

it all depends on where the link is placed and how. if the page with the link is highly trafficked, high pr, and revisited often by the bots, it should be pretty immediate as far the serps recognizing it. this should help you to at least get indexed and ranking for noncompetitive keywords. competitive keywords will take much more time and effort.

Backlinks take forever to happen if you are not on a Content Management Systems with RSS, pingback, etc. It's almost never get indexed by Google or Yahoo.

But before that, be sure to do a good META data. It helps.

Google also deliberatly does not display accurate backlink information to stop you decoding their algorithm. Use Yahoo to moniter backlinks.

It would take roughly around 15-20 days to get quality backlinks to yuor site.

I have been checking my backlinks by searching "mydomainname" on google and seeing displaying 1 of--- results. I went from 94 down to 56 up to 530,000 in one day. 530,000 is most accurate because I create 25-50 thou a day with my veretekk portals and they take time to come up, but my press release and hubpages show up within hours.

it depends upon the quality of the backlinks.........the better they are the faster they get indexed.........but going on with organic optimization you need to wait for atleast 2-3 months of time to have effect of these links ........
