Default Websites effect on rankings - Question

For instance,

If let say someone was using weebly or blogspot instead of a normal paid .com domain.

Will it be the same, if you put the same content in there?

Does these factors affect the search rankings?

Really depends on what your trying to achieve. A quick ranking, maybe. Could be used towards providing links to a more long term site. No ownership is the problem. What are you trying to achieve? Plan?

Lets just say I want to dedicate my blog to one niche, lets say I write my progress and articles about "jogging" or "fasting" then really is there a difference if my website starts with (enternichehere).weebly.com and ww.(enternichehere).com, will someone have to add in the word weebly and also the niche i am in to search up from me in the search engine, like for example to search for me he has to type "weebly jogging", that kinda suck if so...

Sites or pages on a site show up in the search engines based on how well they are optimized for the search engines, the quality of the content and how relevant it is, and stuff like that. Free sites are okay if you are going to write an article on something and then linking back to your own blog on your own domain in order to get a backlink, but that's about all.

Let me give you an example. Let's say you have a site where you write product reviews. The actual product review needs to be on your own self-hosted domain so that you can control the content. It's your product review page that will convert into a sale and is often what will show up in the search engines for specific keywords. If you're going to put an article on a free site, it should be to put the visitor in buying mode so they visit your site.

Free sites are picky about what they allow. Lots of times, they don't allow affiliate links and only allow stuff on certain topics. If you were to put your product review on the free site, there's a chance your content could get removed, which means you wouldn't be able to make any money from it and would have to start all over again. Free sites do this a lot now. It's why I started my own blog.

In addition to protecting your content, you can also do things like build a list, sell ad space, and more that free sites don't allow. You can choose to build one big blog, several smaller ones like if you are going to be promoting things for the holidays -- where there is a lot of money to be made, or do a combination of the two. Lots of people have one big blog for their main niche and create smaller ones for other stuff. Regardless of the approach you take, the work is the same.

I know the idea of having your own blog might seem scary, but they are really easy to do with Wordpress. I suck at technical stuff, and even I did it on my first try. Oh, I forgot to mention that they increase in value as they get older -- just like houses -- and can be sold on virtual marketplaces for lump some of cash. You also still have time to get everything up so that you can make the most of the holidays coming up.

Good luck,
Joey

Having your own website will increase your visitor's trust.
Using weebly or blogspot is ok but if you want to look serious, buy your own domain and hosting.

IF your content deserve ranking then domain or sub domain don't matter much . But it is always better to have your own domains and there are mulitple benefits of it .

Subdomains can be shut down at any time and there is limit in sub domain hosting . so better to spend few dollar's before dreaming to earn thousand dollar's .

You will get the rankings with weebly etc. depending on your
seo efforts, but you do have to conform to the TSO of the property
you are using.
For the sake of your being able to have full control, it's better to
use your own domain name. And it looks more professional to many
visitors to your blog.

This is right regarding Blogspot; not so much regarding Weebly.

At Weebly, the idea is that you start off with a free site, and when you've made some money from it, you can upgrade to their paid hosting without needing to move. When you do that, their "Weebly" button disappears from your pages, and you just have a very good, very professional, very well-established, very reliable hosting company the same as Hostgator or any other, but with their own built-in site-builder available. And of course you can point your own domain-name at the site, just as you can anywhere else.

Blogspot is a totally different proposition from Weebly: at Blogspot, you don't own the site yourself, have all the TOS issues, and so on.

Weebly is actually a very good host. It compares with Hostgator, JustHost, BlueHost and so on. Not so much with places like Squidoo, Blogspot and HubPages where you don't own your own business and they can change their TOS any time they like and/or just delete your site.

Really?

My old Adsense/blogspots have never been biased over a TLD.

Why anyone would give up 100% FREE money is beyond me.

Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of self hosted WP sites.

My blogspots are at least 5 years old, earn money every single day (rain or shine ).

I haven't been banned & I'm 99.99% sure I'll have those blogs up & running as long as blogspot exist.

The one thing I've noticed between myself & other folks that have had blogspots deleted is, I have never once posted a comment outside of my own blogs, on other blogspots.

I also don't care If I rank those blogspots in the SERPs, they do rank for a few good niche keywords but most of my traffic is from niche forums & those guys know me very well.

I'm not trying to be cocky but I'm the go to man for free content in my niche, only two other competition exist, & they sell similar content. I guarantee I get more traffic than they do & haven't put much effort into the sites for a long time, just got burnt out.

If for some strange reason my old blogspots were ever deleted, I could post a single link on the niche forum & redirect everyone to the new site. I'm a Mod on the largest forum on the net for my niche, being a Mod. has some perks.
