So I decided to test a pretty good keyword that's in the hand bag industry. I set up a squidoo with "product name + review" as the keyword. After about a month of backlinking it shows up at the bottom of page 1. And then it got deindexed. I didn't do anything weird or shady. No cloaking or anything like that. Just a standard review. site:LINK shows up nothing Is it because the keyword was a trademarked term? Now that I think about, the site disappeared shortly after I tried to advertise it with adwords. I got an error message stating I can't bid on trademarked terms. Any correlation? |

If your site is new then that is a normal thing. Just wait a few days and all will go back to normal. If you site is not new then may be you get thrown in the google sand box. In the google search box write: site:www.yoursite.com . If you don't get any results then your in the box. |

I did that already, it's not indexed. But the question is why did it happen so I can avoid it in the future. |

Did you trow to your site more then 100 backlinks a day ? Somethims google penalize sites that get, let's say, 1000 backlinks in just 3-4 days, because that amount of backlinks is not natural especially for new sites.

No, just a modest 20 a day. Again I'm thinking it has something to do with the term I'm ranking for. ???

That's qwuite possible. I had a domain with "garmengps" in the domain name, and it was doing very well in the SERPs, then it magically disappeared without any notice. I continued to backlink to it thinking ith was just doing its "dance", but after 3 months or so it never came back, and I gave up on it, and just let the name expire. This isn't always the case, but that's my experience with a "trademarked" domain. You might want to contact Big G... maybe they can tell you why they removed you. Google Help DeShon Quote:

Contact Google via webmaster and request a reconsideration for your site. It will help you.

I don't think google deindexed your site for trademark + review. If you search hostgator reviews, you can see two sites at page 1 that are using hostagor in domain.

Do you know if hostgator is a term that can't be bid on? If hostgator doesn't care then I don't think google cares.

One thing is for certain, you didn't break any copyrights so the reason for being de-indexed certainly isn't because of that. Have you noticed that the page was indexed prior to you not being able to find it recently?

Yes it was ranking highly in the search engines. Then like I pointed out earlier, I TRIED to advertise it with Google Adwords and got an error saying the keyword I'm targetting is a trademarked term and therefore cannot bid on it. Then the site simply disappeared a few days later. I thought it was just being sandboxed as the site is relatively knew. However, after a few weeks I decided to do a "site:URL" this morning and nothing showed up, that's when I found out it had been deindexed. |

your deindexed and your site is prob gone for good. Chances are that maybe the company whos name was in your url reported it and had it removed from the index. I wouldnt even try to contact webmaster tools because that is just asking them to look at all your other sites

on a regular basis. What they de-index is for webmasters doing stupid things. Has nothing to do with the topic. There is no such thing as an illegal term. Have no idea why you think sites that deal with illegal activity are de-indexed. It's called a free and open web. Google decided not to give in to China on stuff like that. Google does not like webmasters shmoozing the system. They will, on a case by case basis, remove some sites from their results. But illegal search terms? Man you can find anything by googling it. This is, after all, 2011. Paul

forced non-targeted link building is one of the reason for blacklisting of domains some other reasons might be there :S |

it happens many time for deindexing. you may be facing google dancing. i suggest you to resubmit your sitemap.xml again in google web master tool. hopefully google crawlers will revisit your site again and you will be reindexed again.

Yes, the truth hurts. Pity if your site goes viral....de-index! Sure. Yeah. Google de-indexes sites for doing stupid things ON the website. Paul
