Please Help Me!!!majestic seo tells me 351 backlinks in 3 and a half weeks !!!!

I just wanted to build 90 backlinks a month, but in 3 and a half weeks majestic seo tells me 351! Please help, there may be a competitor who is building these links?

Only last night to this morning my site went from 279 to 351 backlinks! 72 backlinks overnight?

I do not use automated programs!

The only thing I noticed is that I only made two comments in two different sites and yahoo site explorer began to increase the backlinks from these two sites and today Yahoo Site Explorer shows me 1100 backlinks in 3 and a half weeks!!!

What should I do?

Google will penalize me?

Please help me !!!!!!!!!!!

This backlinks continue to grow please help meeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry about the additional links as your website is getting those naturally. You won't be penalized for these.

You (allegedly) only get sandboxed if you use automated programs to build links because this links have the same footprint (in terms of the types of sites they appear on).

But in your case, because you are getting links naturally, there won't be a problem.

Might you have competition out to get you, Google generally deals with suspicious backlinks by simply ignoring them, so as to not allow saboteurs to win.

Try open site explorer too, explorer may be operating with a skeleton crew in preparation of being shut down and may just be slow in discovering backlinks you already have, I just looked at a complete estore site that exlorer still thinks has 1 page.

Do you have some secret insider information?

You can look for yourself and see where the backlinks are coming from.

You do not get penalized for getting too many backlinks.

It's not possible and has been proven time and time again.

Your "problem" is not a problem at all.

I recently posted a comment on a site that had a "most recent comments" widget in the sidebar. Majestic reported that I had a backlink from every single page on that site.

If so, don't worry about it, it won't hurt you. Also, once your comment drops out of the widget you'll end up with only on link from the comment you made.

It sounds like "site wide links" which can happen when you end up in the sidebar of a blog often due to comment widgets.

Your rankings might go up or down but it's usually just temporary as the search engines don't place much weight on these links. I've had sites that have gained 1000+ links like this and then lost them all when I'm not in the blog sidebar but have virtually no effect on rankings.

I'd just keep building links steadily and hopefully everything should be okay.

Danr62 seems that he understood my problem.

My problem seems to be caused by two comments I made on two different sites. (Only one comment for each site)
These two sites have the recent comments widget.

Are many of the backlinks from one site?

All backlincks I built are made manually and all on different websites. (I work 10 hours a day on my site)

I do social bookmarks, blog commenting,. Edu and. Gov sites commenting, directory submissions, RSS news feeds, forums profile links.

Why do you think only 90 backlinks is the right number?

Do you have some secret insider information?

We all know how difficult it is to build an online business and then building backlinks too quickly can be very risky for seo. (my site has 1 month of age)
I think 3 / 5 quality backlinks per day, is a right number for a new site. (Do not exceed 10 for a new site)

My secret is to listen to the advice of those who are already earning money online and in this case the advice was to not build too many backlinks at one time especially if a site is new.

Thanks again to everyone for quick responses and I hope that this amount of backlinks, not harm my site.

I am the Marketing Director at Majestic SEO.

It is indeed likely that one site creates many back links. Comments could end up on all ages on Wordpress quite easily for a period. Majestic gives you two counts... number of links and number of referring domains. If the domain count is growing steadily I would not worry too much. However - I WOULD register on Majestic and get your own site's full details for free. Then you get to see every link and can take away the guesswork altogether. I did a webinar on what you get for free - although it was back in January, so lots has changed. But you can find the webinars and videos from our blog page.
