I'm working on three sites at the moment and try to-do about either blog commenting 5 days a week and 5 comments a blog or M/W/F 5 Comments each. So is this amount fine or am I not doing enough? Also has anyone really seen growth with blog commenting? |

If you're sticking with blog commenting only, that's not enough. You know, there are many link building methods and techniques that you can use. It's about exploring new things. |

That level for blog comments is ok but you need to get more than just blog comments to create diversity in your link profile.

If you're not commenting too heavily, I'd only go for the higher PR / dofollow posts. (Which are admittedly hard to find.) Otherwise I think you could be spending your time doing something else that is more effective. If you can, pick up Scrapebox for $57 @ cheapskate - ScrapeBox Yes, it can be used to blast away at thousands of blogs. A lot of people look down on the software because of that, which is understandable. However, it is also the BEST harvesting tool available. Once you've gotten the hang of things you can find literally hundreds of niche-related, PR1 or higher, dofollow posts to manually comment on. It is also the best multi-purpose IM tool. It's got a ton of different functions. |

I agree with what everyone else above me has said. You're definitely not over doing the link building but it is important to diversify. If you're doing blog comments manually you should be going after the quality link, the ones that have some PR and are do follow but it's also a very good idea to mix up your link building efforts. Social bookmarks, article directories, blog networks, press releases, document sharing sites etc.

| It is enough! I've ranked 3 sites on page 1 just with blog commenting to get backlinks. There's no need to explore new things if if you already have a syste that works alright.

Many of the blogs now are using nofollow so it is better that you explore other methods also for link building. Do some study on how you can utilize the following for link building - 1. Directory Submission (free and paid) 2. Article writting and posting 3. Guest blogging 4. Social Media 5. Link Bait creation and if you get some time left then go for 5. Blog commenting and forum posting.

If you build blog comment links consistently it won't matter if a few of them get deleted or no followed, just like any other form of backlinking. I like blog commenting more because it's so much easier to get high PR backlinks with low OBL that you don't even have to pay for. One of these links is probably worth a thousand PR0 forum links (in my humble opinion)

Yeah it is enough. Specially if you are working on keywords having a very low level of competition. I could also bring that kind of site in page 1 of Google with blog commenting only. But I'm speaking generally that blog commenting is not enough in ranking a site specially if you are using keywords with high level of competition. Hope it clears everything up.

In SEO world one method can be effective for a certain thing, but surely not for all things. ![]() Just a sort of reminder ![]() To ZAI: Familiar with tier linking? You can do it. You will not find a hard time in making it because it's quite easy. Example: ![]() Blast the tiers 1,2,3,4, and 5 with bookmarking links. Also, if you have links mostly from blogs and forums that doesn't make your link profile look natural and search engines are smart enough to understand that. Links from comments only would have done the trick for you but it won't in most of the cases. Even where blog commenting can help rank higher it is advisable to get other kind of links too. I am not ruling out blog commenting as a link building technique and neither I am supporting forum posting read the post more carefully I had said if you could get some time left you could spend some time on blog commenting and forum posting.

I know that some people think I'm "putting all my eggs in one basket" but at the end of the day, a backlink is a backlink. Does it matter if its in the form of a guest post, a blog comment or an article directory? No I don't think so. The keywords I'm ranking for aren't ultra competitive but they're not traditional niche google sniper keywords either, somewhere in between. I don't see how google is going to slap hundreds of different sites on different IPs with different owners and domains at the same time, it simply won't happen. Google won't phase out the power of backlinking any time soon. For those that argue that only using one type of backlinking is unnatural is ridiculous. What is natural and how can google determine it for every different website on the www? All the backlinking we're doing is unnatural, poor quality articles in article directories spun a thousand times but pointing to the same website is unnatural, does google care? I believe the answer is no. Nonetheless this is just the opinion of one little man sitting in front of his little computer. I'm a very factual guy and I need to see something to believe it works, and right now for me at least, blog commenting is sufficient for ranking my sites so I haven't had the need for other methods, when the time comes that blog commenting fails me, I'll start diversifying my backlinks.
