I have heard a lot about how good private networks help in improving SERP, but I have always been skeptic about using them as a main stream link building method. The reason behind this is there are plenty of users who uses such network and spam them to death with spun content. If this was 2009, then I would have given it a try, but after Panda update I'm more concerned with the quality of content. 1) What are the best private networks according to you? 2) Should I use them to point directly to money site or should i use them as tier 1/2/2 of link pyramid/wheel? Hoping to get the best advice from experts. |

I am a big fan of BuildMyRank as they do not allow spun content or duplicate content and have a very good network. I use it to send backlinks to my money site and to my links. I have used many other but I am not always thrilled with the quality of sites in their networks. |

Are you talking about creating a link wheel for your main site? if yes then it all depends on how well do build a link wheel. Most of the people just create sites and spam them to hell for linking back to the main site. So if you are creating a link wheel do it properly. Make sure that every site you create for linking to the main site serves quality itself and then link it to the main site. This could be a very tedious job to do properly but it can get you very good results. |

Well I'm not discussing about link wheel or pyramid here. Yes, quality does matter. I usually prefer link pyramid instead of wheel. I do not believe in creating a large wheel or pyramid. Only few links are enough and then I rely on social bookmarking, article submission (small blast with 15 article pointing to the tier 1 with click here, follow link, this website and keyword as an anchor text). I'm more interested in knowing more about private networks. To be frank I'm new to this thing and I haven't personally tried any network. Quote:

BMR + SocBookmark + Social Signals + High PR homepage is all you need. BMR is really the best out there though in terms of quality. |

Since how long have you been using BMR? I have heard a lot about it but I would like to know its effect after a few month. Will it be same? |

We run a large private blog network, but we have actually produced the original content for it as well, so no requirement of our clients to create anything. Our network is more than 10,000 individual domains and 100,000 pieces of original content which is quite large. We tend to work with large buyers only on a direct basis. We offer in-content anchor text links in a range of categories. We work closely with our clients over time and we have been very successful helping them rank for wide ranges of keywords in their respective categories. When selecting a service, be sure to be clear with the seller how many unique domains you will receive links from, if the content and domain is owned by the seller and if the links will be contextual, blog roll, footer, etc. All of this makes a big difference. Good Luck. |

I will give another vote to BMR. I've had good results with it and others have too. I've also had no problems linking directly to my main websites.

Another vote for BMR. But you can't use it alone and it can get quite expensive if you have alot sites to promote. I pay $50 per 100 approved posts and it still gets pricey. BMR, Web2.0, EDU & GOV links usually get me to page 1. Then I use relevant blog comments, High PR article directories and High PR links to go down the homestretch to #1. Works everytime. |
