Anyone see huge variances from one day to the next with their CTR? I am inclined to think that google is testing you by throwing up ads they know don't meet your demographic to see if your CTR stays the same or not. For example, if a website's admin sees their CTR and income drop off significantly one day, they may be inclined to click or have some of their friends click on some ads to boost the numbers that day. Well because google intentional put less appealing ads, they would use that as a red flag that your numbers may be artificially boosted. Thoughts? |

There is no way your traffic is going to be the exact same people from day to day. So, your CTR, money, etc. could not possibly be the same if you look on a daily basis. Your ads are shown in relation to your traffic and visitor demographics. Google tries to put the best ads available at all times. But they cannot predict what your visitors actually will click on. They can't read minds. With millions of sites using adsense, they really could care less about you personally, although it makes some sad to realize this. The best practice is to use the competitive ad filter on a daily basis. New adwords users are added constantly. Paul |

I understand there will always be fluctuations, and traffic on Saturday is going to be different than a Monday, but with over 2000 visitors a day and you see the ctr drop in half from one day to the next. That is a big change. Today I already have the same number of clicks compared to all of yesterday, and 3 times the income. Go figure! |

Just like an offline business you'll have lower paying days & higher paying days, as long as every single sale/click is not set at a fixed price (Adsense isn't fixed pricing per click). Look at the BIG picture, 1 month of data, you'll not be so worried about todays $$ high or low. |
