Default How many clicks does it take to know if a ppc campaign is successful?

I'm trying to determine how many clicks on a ppc campaign are needed before making a go/no-go decision with the campaign.

I've heard many "gurus" say that you should see a conversion of .05% on up before considering a campaign to be converting well. But how many clicks would you pay for in order to make that decision?

I know this is not an exact science so a definite number is probably impossible to give. But would you pay for 10 clicks and expect to see some sort of conversion? Is it 100 clicks? 1000?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.
