Default "Low Hanging Fruit " - Finding Under-Utilized Topics & Subjects During Keyword Research

When performing keyword research it is very important you look at areas that have potential and will address an untapped market. You can certainly improve your chances of success by focusing on these under utilized topics and subjects.

Am I saying you should ignore something your interested in and passionate about? No, of course not. What I'm saying is that it is important to try and recognize topics and subjects that have been ignored. The ability to find these areas will serve you well in your attempts to develop traffic and your website.

Although it is essential during keyword research that you are spending time on a topic that truly has potential, it's also very important during your research that you aren't spending time on an area that has been completely saturated by other people ("Hard To Reach Fruit").

When discussing "Low Hanging Fruit" I am talking about areas in which people are overlooking. Furthermore, "Low Hanging Fruit" refers to the following:

==>> Topics or subjects that have not been utilized to their fullest potential

==>> An audience that has not been addressed

==>> A product that has been under-promoted

==>> A marginalized or ignored element of society or element of interest

There are tons of topics out there that have areas within that topic that have not been utilized and therefore would potentially make a wonderful and profitable website. This is done by simply focusing on the "Low Hanging Fruit" instead of the "Hard To Reach Fruit" (saturated topic or subject).

Many successful websites do just that. While most people are running around trying to get the fruit at the top of the tree, many smart Internet Marketer's understand the value of grabbing the low hanging fruit and are often able to create a successful and lucrative website with half the effort.

Lightbulb Re: "Low Hanging Fruit " - Finding Under-Utilized Topics & Subjects During Keyword Research

I best way that I've found to find this "Low Hanging Fruit" is to use your brain. Sounds cheesy I know, but there are plenty of niches on the internet that have been ignored or neglected simply because people may not realize their potential.

For example instead of creating a website about "Muscle Cars" in general (lots of competition) create a website on a specific type of muscle car like the Yenko Camero (low competition)

Navigating within a general niche will only lead to increased competition and frustration. However, while doing research on a niche that is specific and/or has not been utilized will increase your chances of creating a unique, interesting and profitable website.

Put another way, while doing keyword research for a new website it is important to understand that "specific is better than general" - Napoleon Hill.
