Default BMR Question About a Comment by Derek S

Hi guys,

I'm new here, and I've been going back and reading some older threads.

A comment by Derek S stuck out regarding a BMR Experiment:

Quote:
Most of the magic will happen when you realize that it's not what the basic BMR links will do for you, but instead what you can do to your BMR links to make them REALLY work for you.
Trying to figure out if he means linking them together or what? Or building links to BMR? How are you guys using your BMR posts?

Thanks,
Dee

Define a lot? I have only heard of 1. And they never said WHY they got deindexed.

Sites from time to time are going to be deindexed, there is nothing that can really be done.

BUT an entire network of sites is pretty hard to believe. Unless of course the owners did some pretty foolish things that got ALL of the sites in a network deindexed.

I know 3 more that got deindexed this week alone, but they all used spun content so that might have been a footprint.

Also to OP, he meant building backlinks to your BMR posts.

Never do that because if google finds one of your articles on one site, you lead them directly to all your other articles. This is just one of the reasons people shot themselves in the foot when it came to profile backlinking - trying to get them all crawled.

As for my secrets, I'll never tell... Unless you have more then $100,000 in your pocket and willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement drawn up by my lawyer LOL

Only $100,000? You're selling yourself short

As Clyde stated, I would assume he meant building links to your BMR posts

Blink,

Give us an update on how that works out. I'd be interested in seeing your results.

So it is a CONFIRMED 3 ENTIRE networks were deindexed this week? Which ones?

Not really sure spun content justifies as a footprint really. Yes, it can be a footprint of where a single person was posting their articles, but I am pretty skeptical about a footprint for EVERYONE on a "private" blog network.

Lets say a network has 1000 sites in it, and it spanned 100 Class C IP addresses. And all of the whois information was different on each hosting account. How could the ENTIRE network be deindexed? Even on fewer class C IPs it would be pretty hard to do that.

I am just very skeptical on this matter; until I see some actual solid proof.

You do know that you don't need to do that. BMR ALREADY does all the backlinking those links need.

Hmm I did some backlinks to some of my BMR posts from a few months ago, I honestly saw no change despite sending them other article links. Basically my test was 20 BMR posts with the same anchor text towards a website. The ranking did not change for like 2 weeks or so now since those posts are decently old by now (2 months at least).

I sent all 20 links a lot of article mkt links using article rank, article samurai, AMR and I used not only the same anchor text that was being used for my site but also variations (so those 20 links do not all get the same anchor text and then the exact same is being used to link to my site...)

Anyway, conclusion? While the rest of my site has been doing well in terms of my normal promotion, that URL/keyword which had nothing else but backlinks to my BMR links did not move at all (in fact it went down a bit as the rest of the site climbed up, a trend I notice when I only use BMR for posts since they tend to lose power after the 2-3 month mark). BMR does a great job at getting posts indexed, and 3/4 of those posts were still indexed when I did the backlinking run and I really did not notice any benefit.

It IS hard, that's why out of the 1k sites, only 200 will be de-indexed, not all of them.

2 of the networks I know only got 20% deindexed.
