Default Google Semantics Search Lower Amount of Post Tags in WordPress?

Sorry if the title is a little confusing, but here's basically what I am wondering. I know Google has semantic search so it finds relevant content. I also know the importance of post tags in WordPress, but I've heard from several people that having 1-3 post tags is quiet enough (the really targeted tags). My question is basically this:

If I use the Google AdWords Keyword Tool for keyword research, and search up the keyword for example: "complete surveys for cash" and it gives me a bunch of related keywords -- would I need to input all those keywords in as post tags or does Google get the point with just that one keyword (since all the others are related and Google is apparently semantic). Any ideas?
