Beneficial? Possibly - it certainly won't do any harm. Also links from articlesnatch.com and helium.com show up in Yahoo Site Explorer for some of my sites.

There is little chance of benefiting from ranking boosts in the search engines as these links don't pass any page rank. The whole "dofollow" and "nofollow" arguement is regularly debated. Here's the most recent thread on this forum: Matt said Nofollow backlinks will not work for google Ranking!! If you think that you might receive quality traffic from these sites then go for it. Also, it's worth noting at this point that even though the article sites you have listed have strong PR, this is the PR of their home page. Your, and the thousands of other articles within these directories, will be on unique pages which will have an extremely low page rank and not that of the listed PR values above. |

Yes, Only Google will not give weightage to no-follow sites, no-follow links but Other search engines like Yahoo and Bing consider no-follow sites and no-follow links.

you forgot ezinearticles well article submissions are now not considered a very effective way to build links after google's panda but still many article publishing sites do well in searches that you simply can't ignore them and also they can still drive you enormous amounts of traffic.

If it doesn't take much of your time and efforts, go grab those nofollow links. Useless fro SEO point of view, they still can drive traffic to your website. Moreover, there's a belief that a website should have a diverse backlink portfolio, i.e. dofollow/nofollow, high/low PR. It appears more natural to Google. Btw, links from Wikipedia are nofollow too. Still lots of website owners do bother to get them. |

If you could grab some traffic, why not. You won't know some of these traffic may become your customers or loyal readers. So I believe you should submit articles to no-follow sites, more exposure more possibilities.

hey..if we just submit our articles all to directories which gives a follow link wouldn't that show an unnatural link building with google? i believe it would be good if we just build both follow and no-follow links like 4 follow and 1 no-follow link just to pacify google and not raise any flags! |

I submit both to dofollow and nofollow directories. Both of them eventually give me dofollow links. When you submit to those directories, you give permission to use these articles. Others republish them, and there you have more dofollow links. They're PR0, but the article links are also PR0. That's how I get my dofollow backlinks. I see my articles with links to my site all over the search results, most of them dofollow. And it all started with nofollow articles. nadavs |

Regardless of the 'weight' of dofollow and nofollow links, I always think the search engines want to see a varied link profile that includes both. |

Yes. You should also include no follow links on your article submission since it help create a natural link building and it alleviates the risk of being detected as SPAM. However, no follow links are useless in SEO but is useful for diversity. Jack |

I wouldn't turn them down. At the very least it will help your links look natural. Also, don't forget that others may pick up your article and put it on their sites. (Which may or may not be DoFollow themselves.)

I am not sure about the benefit to SEO or ranking from these non-follow article directories, but the real gold can be in the traffic that you could gain from them. I can think of a lot of reasons to go for these nofollow article directories. Not only does it help build a natural link profile, but you also have the potential to gain traffic from high ranking articles. I recommend that you take the time to submit decent quality unique articles for the best results. |

hi, i would say why not. Its possible that sometimes you will get traffic even if you have submitted your article on no follow links. Depends on how good your content is. |

No follow directories only give traffic to your website but not help your website indexing or back linking.

I think a mixture of both would go along way to strike a balance which makes it look natural. Google likes it being natural.

I think that no follow links from respected websites will have some value due to the fact that your site will still have an association with it, regardless if link juice is being passed on or not. But for the records I would not spend a vast amount of time on no follow sites, MHO.

Irrespective of their backlinks being counted to rank your site or not, you should submit articles to no-follow sites as well for the traffic that you may get from them.

It's completely useless!! you would not be getting any backlink benefits!! To everyone else who is saying that it might be beneficial... can you answer this simple question (and hopefully you will understand how wrong you were!) Why bother with a PR6 or PR7 nofollow directory/article site when you can instead submit to a dofollow PR6 or PR7 site?! |

I have read a lot on this topic and this is what I have learnt: If you want to increase the Page Rank of your site then it would be useless to submit to such sites as they do not pass the link juice If you are looking for links or increased number of links that might help users to find your site on other places then go for it. In the end it all comes down to the basic idea in mind which will decide your course of action |

Link is a link be it Nofollow or Dofollow. IMO what really needs to matter is that articles are not only going to do it to raise the sites linking building structure. You need to make sure that you mix it up and ensure that links from different types are coming to your site and not only from article submitting sites |
