Usually we optimize the Homepage first and also put the main keyword in it. But for my site,it has a precaution (Though it not belongs to any of the prohibited terms) at it's Homepage (www . *** . com). There's only word is linked to the inner page, 'ENTER' which is redirecting to (www . *** . com/index.html) at where the main contents and keywords are.Naturally I'm wanting to optimize that page and that keywords indeed. So, could this be a disadvantage for SEO my site as I've put everything at a inner page and trying to optimize not the Homepage (which already got a PR '0', though I'm not sure enough it's any significance or not), rather that page? |

Why not just build a new site using your inner page as the new home page?

Google could see that as a "doorway page" and penalize you. I don't understand why you would want to set this site up this way.

Why have an 'enter' page? This isn't 1999 anymore. Unless you are providing some type of disclaimer or other type of 'agreement' before entering the site. Easy way to do that? Have a "lock out" type of overlay/popover that requires someone to agree to the terms/site and then have them view the real site. Don't waste an entire homepage to an "agree" button. That's a huge waste of linkjuice and most users don't like that kinda thing anyway (high bouncerate) |

I don't see anything wrong w/ this. I have an ecommerce site where all my SEO work and advertising campaigns target inner product pages. |
