Hello Everyone, I am fairly new at this web marketing, so i would like to pose a questions perhaps the experts can help? I currently run an Adwords campaign for the HCG Diet. The term HCG has recently been banned from Google Adwords and all campaigns running promoting the product are being suspended. QUESTION : If the term is banned, how is it possible that when you perform a search for the term hcg ( ex: hcg diet, hcg diet injections) you can still see running ads promoting the product? My Adgroup which contains keywords related to hcg - has multiple ads with different ad copy - Ads including HCG in the adcopy are disaproved - Ads using keyword insertion - are approved and run but do not fully show the keyword Ex: Ad headline {KeyWord:Weight Loss Diet} Keyword: HCG Diet When the ad is triggered only the Diet portion of the keyword is inserted and excludes HCG - How can this happen? Other advertisers are able to include HCG in the headline and body of the ad. Any ideas, any help is appreciated? Thanks! |

I think you are confusing banned words with something else. Like how and when google displays ads. You can target terms, but not promote them. You can probably can target hcg, but better not promote it with diet. You are promoting hcg in conjunction with diet. Not allowed. A smart marketer would know how to do it correctly. And, google wants smart marketers. You don't think they are not going to sell ads on a well searched term like hcg? But weight loss, diet, AND hcg product/landing page aint gonna cut it. Paul |

Paul, I appreciate your insight on the subject. Perhaps I should change the focus of the campaign. Thanks, seofalco |

My sources state that Google is not longer allowing ads for anything that is considered a supplement, and scrutnizing anything that is "consumed". Basically, if your not a big Pharma... you'll need to start looking for alternative media. |
