Confused about my rankings...

I have a new site and submitted site map to google 1 month ago. No backlinking as yet but due to start.
I used my Market Samarai Rank Tracker to look at my rankings. I typed in 4 Keywords and for two of my main KW's the tracker says:
"Ranking page not found in Google".
I then manually check in Google and the results only go up to 667 results for these KW's as they are low comp and I am not even ranked and then it says
repeat the search with the omitted results included.

I go further to 1000 results (100 pages) and still not listed!
I am really concerned as to why this is – I have not done anything except submit this site map to google and I have optimised my site as in the home page and review pages on SEO processor.

It shows my other two KW's are being ranked, one in Yahoo and one in Google.

Can anyone tell me why my first two keywords which is optmised all over my site and in my domain name is not indexed when my other 2 are??? I am starting backlinking for these two keywords that are not showing and hope that through this work they will "then" get indexed or am I wasting my time?

Any advice appreciated.

One of the first thing you must do is register for a Google WebmasterTools account which is free and this will provide you much more in the way of analytical feedback as to how Google sees your various domains.

You can then submit a sitemap directly and this will have much more effectiveness than submitting the site the ordinary route which is actually the last thing you want to do.

Thanks for info! I did submit to directly via Google Webmaster Tools. Please can you give some info as to what I should check when I go into account as I have never used other than to submit my 1st site map. Currently my site is 9 pages. I just looked on dashboard and it has some info like:

Sitemap

URls in web index 9

Crawl errors

Issues Google encountered when crawling your site.

Show URLs: Not found (11)

Detail 404 not found are on all of these

Completely lost now as I don't know what any of this means, could this be the reason why some of my KW's are "not found"in the Rank Tracker
