Default A question about links with twitter and stumbleupon.com

This maybe a stupid question, but every time you book mark a page with stumble upon ( like a blog post) is this considered a backlink?

Also, everytime you do a tweet with a link back to your page, is this also a backlink?

If it's coming from a site like twitter or stumble upon is it a backlink from a site which is more then PR0?

Thanks

Nope all these sites use nofollow so no use of these links. Most of the social media sites have become nofollow now.

They may be nofollow but a backlink is a backlink. Sometimes these backlinks can bring you traffic and that's the goal isn't it?

They are backlinks and do not go unnoticed, imho.
A site that would follow Google's terms does not try to manipulate their placements in this manner... so certainly a G ranking algorithm would take into consideration the amount of dofollow bl's to the amount of nofollows, looking for abnormalities. And as mentioned, there is the potential for traffic from the link itself.

Some social bookmarking sites are no follow and some do follow but no follow social bookmarking sites are also helpful they do not help in link juice but are very helpful in indexing your site.

As far as twitter is considered it is definitely no follow and links coming from facebook and twitter are considered as social signals and according to rand fishkin social signals may be future ranking signals IMO these are present ranking signals.I have seen improvements from no follow sites also.

Google have one another private pr which is not shown to anyone which takes into consideration link juice coming from no follow sites and distribute that PR to all sites privately.

Why Google will do this,i think there is some benefit in getting links from no follow sites.

Whether a link is dofollow or no follow, it hardly matters to me... What more important is, the traffic is pulling it to your site.

Social bookmarking websites is a great channel for driving traffic to the website. Also, social bookmarking websites helps in improving social media reputation.

You should have do follow and no follow links to your site to create a "natural" and diverse link profile.

Twitter is no follow and in stumble only putting link is not enough , make your own community there and share your link. once your followers like and share that you won't only get strong back link but also a very good amount of traffic as well.
Thanks.

Maybe these nofollow backlinks are not too important to pure rank porpuoses, but them help to index pages and coluld bring traffic. In addition, G is starting to consider social mentions as a relevance sign.

So I think its important to have backlinks from social networks

If you do it right Stumbleupon can bring in a lot of traffic. Twitter takes a lot more community building to get anything from. Other than that there is no measurement of how well the backlink from these sites helps you rank however if you are posting blog posts you can automate the posting to Twitter so why stop?
