multiple domain question

Hey everyone I'm new here and have been reading this awesome site all day looking for an answer but to no avail.

I have located a great niche market that has several domains available that when searched for produce 1-6 million results for the exact phrase and the competition is almost nill. The problem is I know I will want to expand my market a bit later on into other related niches which are also high traffic low competition and I want to make an authority site on the matter.

The question is when registering the domains should I start with the one which will rank me the fastest or should I start with the authority site.

I ask because I am not sure if I should use domain redirect or masking but I want to lock in the domain link juice now.

I hope this makes sense if not feel free to ask clarifying questions.

Your question seems to imply that you either have to build an authority site or a site that will rank quickly.

The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Personally, I would start building an authority site now. If the niches you want to expand into are all related, there's no need for additional domains.

That's the thing the only reason I would start with the side site is the exact phrase that is being searched is available as a domain name. It would be sure to clear up to people if that is the topic that is covered. While my authority site is a little broader. I was thinking that the first option is targeted enough to rise very quickly in Google. Since my authority site is broader it would take longer I would think to rise up in Google plus I would have a lot more content that would need to be written as compared to the micro niche.

Do you see where I am coming from?
