So I know you can't make the destination URL be your affiliate link b/c the display URL must match, but would this work: - registering your own domain and copying the exact sales page of the CB product page to your site - making the buy now/order now/etc buttons link to your affiliate link and making the affiliate links bypass the sales page of the CB product page and go directly to the order page (so the visitor doesn't view the exact same sales page twice, that'd mess things up) This is what Kelly Felix from BTF recommends, but I can't help but think that the product owner would have a problem with an affiliate copying their sales pages. Or are CB product owners lenient on that type of stuff? |

regarding your first point, I don't see why this would be a problem from google's side. From the owners side, I don't really see why they would mind, but i guess it would be a case by case basis. personally, I think you are much better off with a squeeze page pushing them to the owners offer page. Especially because you could use it to build your list instead of just sending the visitor to the owners site. |

| That would decrease conversions though. The less clicks the user has to go through to get to the sales page, the better.

That said I would not touch or put clickbank and adwords / direct link all in the same sentence unless you wanted to run a very high risk of having your account permanently suspended from google. Any notion of taking a mirror copy of the sales page then running a direct link to the order page with your own affiliate link (if using Google or most other top level ad networks) would follow very closely behind the above advice and it would only be time before G / others found the site and proceeded to suspend you for life as well. If people say it is working for them now it is probably more luck that they have not been found yet. However the above idea of using a copy page on your own site and using your affiliate link to the order page could very well work with some of the second tier ad networks / article / blog etc promotions combined maybe with a re write or improvement on the sales page if needed, could swing you some nice returns. like everything to many variables so you would need to test to see if it worked for you. | |

As Pete said, your first sentence starts from a false premise. It is wrong. The reason most CB products get Adwords accounts banned is because they make misleading and inaccurate claims. You simply cannot say that something will cure whatever disease you have or that you'll make a specific amount of money in a specific amount of time. So if you're going to direct link, make sure the landing page follows the Adwords rules. The alternative is making your own page with your own domain. At least you have control and can test different copies. It's more work of course. If you want to copy exactly, I don't see much of a problem but I think it's stupid to do so. As you say, if you make your own page, send your links to the order page. That's what Google wants you to do. Squeeze pages are not liked by Google. Besides, I agree with you they don't work. |
